Laser Radial & Standard - Euromasters 2017 - Act 2 - Oostende BEL - Final results, the Swiss

 Laser Radial & Standard - Euromasters 2017 - Act 2 - Oostende BEL - Final results, the Swiss Three more races were sailed in both fleets yesterday, the final day of the Laser Euromasters in Oostende BEL.
Wilmar Groenendijk NED defended his lead in the Radials. The best of the day Martin Van Olffen NED moved up on the 2nd rank overall. Among the best of the day was also Peter Seidenberg USA, sailing in the 'Legends' category (above 70 years), who advanced on the 4th place overall. Jacques Perret SUI completed the series on rank 10 among the 25 participants.
Thomas Müller GER is the overall winner in the Standards ahead of Rik Wolters NED. Alan Davies GBR and Wolfgang Gerz GER follow on the ranks 3 and 4. The Swiss improved their positions. Thanks to a 4th race rank, Markus Ochs SUI finished on rank 13 overall. Mauro Lentini SUI (with a 2nd race rank) and Guy Wuilleret SUI (with a 5th race rank) follow just behind on the positions 14 and 15.

Optimist, Laser 4.7 & Radial, RS Feva - Championnat Juniors ACVL centralisé - CV Vidy

 Optimist, Laser 4.7 & Radial, RS Feva - Championnat Juniors ACVL centralisé - CV Vidy Four races per class were completed over the past weekend at the joint Youth Sailing Championship of the Lake Geneva region.
In the Optimists, Clément Guignard SNNY was the winner ahead of Max Marmy SNNY and Tom Siret CNM. First in the small Laser Radial fleet was Adrien Cardinale CVV. In the RS Fevas, the second-largest fleet with 12 teams, Alexander Ott/Giuliano Zennaro CNV were on top.

Grand Surprise,Toucan - Critérium de la Nautique - SN Genève

 Grand Surprise,Toucan - Critérium de la Nautique - SN Genève The day after the 'Coupe du Petit Lac' (we informed yesterday), the Toucans and Grand Surprises sailed their Criterium organised by the SN Geneva. Four races have been completed in a 8-12 kn Northeasterly on a sunny day.
Twelve participant were present in the Grand Surprises and delivered a close battle for the podium as finally only one point separated the 5th from the 2nd. Christian Haegi SNG finished first ahead of Bernard Vananty SUI and Bernard Schopfer SNG.
On top among the seven Toucans was Pierre Ducluzaux SNG ahead of Hervé Gaussen CNM and René Grept SNG.

 Surprise, Yardstick - Seal Cup - CV Lago di Lugano Five races have been completed on Lake Lugano at the Seal-Cup of the Surprises and the two Yardstick categories.
Andrea Colombo CVLL finished first in the Surprises 2 points ahead of Sacha De Micheli CVLL. In the Racers (Corsa category), the Esse 850 of Luca Wullschleger CVLL was on top, in the Cruisers (Crociera), Guido De Sigis CVLL with his Dynamique Express 600 was first.

Melges 24 - European Sailing Series 2017 - Riva ITA - Final results, the Swiss

 Melges 24 - European Sailing Series 2017 - Riva ITA - Final results, the Swiss During the final race of the Melges 24 European Sailing Series on Lake Garda yesterday, Carlo Fracassoli ITA discovered his direct challengers for victory way back in the fleet, and he allowed himself an early home time abandoning the race. 7 points is the advantage in the final rankings. Winning the last heat, Bruce Ayres USA (with Mark Reynolds USA) moved up on the 2nd place overall. Robert Bakoczy HUN defended his 3rd rank. Jürg Hotz SUI finished the regatta as 15th among the 39 teams.

 Laser Radial & Standard - Euromasters 2017 - Act 2 - Oostende BEL - Day 2, the Swiss No result changes on the official website and apparently, no races were held yesterday Sunday at the Laser Euromasters in Oostende BEL. Leader in the Radials after the two races of the opening day is Wilmar Groenendijk NED. Jacques Perret SUI is on rank 9. In the Standards, Rick Wolters NED is on top one point ahead of Piet Van Damme BEL. The best Swiss Guy Wuilleret SUI is 16th.

Laser Radial - Swiss Championship 2017 - YC Bielersee - Final results

 Laser Radial - Swiss Championship 2017 - YC Bielersee - Final results The Laser Radial Swiss Championship on Lake Bienne was concluded yesterday with only four races completed. Nicolas Rolaz CNM defended his first position winning the title with a 5 points' advantage on Grégoire Peverelli SNG. Gauthier Verhulst CNP moved up on the 3rd position. Rosine Baudet CNM on rank 16 among the 32 participants was the best girl. Finishing in the middle of the fleet were the veterans Edgar Röthlisberger YCB on rank 11 and Lorenz Müller YCB as 13th enjoying the event at their local club and race against the youngsters.

 M2-Catamaran - Speed Tour 2017 - GP Grandson - Victory for Mitch Booth AUS After the Bol d'Or on Saturday dominated by the M2-Cats, the first GP of the Annual Championship was held off Grandson/Lake Neuchâtel. Best conditions with a 12-16 kn Northeasterly and sun prevailed and 6 races have been completed. The double Tornado-Olympia medalist Mitch Booth AUS steered 'Immoset' for the first time on rank one overall. 'Swiss Medical Network' with Didier Pfister followed on rank 2.

 Fireball - Swiss Championship 2017 - SV Mammern - Final results The Fireball Swiss Championship on the Lower Lake Constance was terminated yesterday with three races, and again, Claude Mermod RCO/Ruedi Moser SCOW dominated with the ranks 1 and 2, allowing them to leave out the last race as premature Champions. Completing the podium at equal points were Jiri Cechura/Jan Will CZE 2nd and Kurt Venhoda/Sonja Zaugg SVM 3rd.

 J/70 - Swiss Challenge League - Act 2 - SSC Romanshorn - Final results Perfect conditions with a stable 10-12 kn breeze prevailed yesterday at the Swiss Sailing Challenge League Regatta on Lake Constance off Romanshorn and the full program could be sailed. The CN Versoix with Victor Casas dominated again and ended on top of the rankings with an 8 points' lead on the YC Kreuzlingen with Stefan Lion. The SC Männedorf with Peter Stöckli advanced on rank 3 on the final day.

 D-35-Catamaran - Grand Prix de Versoix - CN Versoix Another four races were completed yesterday on Lake Geneva off Versoix. 'Alinghi' of Ernesto Bertarelli SNG celebrated the second GP victory this year with a series of top finishes during the three days. As in the first Act, 'Zen Too' of Guy de Piciotto SNG holds rank 2 ahead of 'Ylliam' of Bertrand Demole SNG completing the podium.

 Dragon, H-Boat, Onyx - Jungfrau-Trophy II - Thunersee YC With the Northeasterly over the Swiss plaines, the thermal breeze filled in very late, and only the Onyx could complete one shortened race. Corinne Meyer TYC and her team finished again on top ahead of Jürg Ryffel YCR and Thomas Cantz SCStä. In the Dragons, Andy Herrmann GER was on top, in the H-Boats, the winner was Fritz Trudel SMCGW.

 Melges 24 - European Sailing Series 2017 - Act 2 - Riva ITA - Day 2, the Swiss Act 2 of the Melges 24 European Sailing Series continued yesterday on Lake Garda with two races. Carlo Fracassoli ITA and his team defended their lead, and the best of the day Andrea Rachelli ITA and his team advanced on rank 2. Robert Bakoczy HUN is 3rd, Robert Ayers USA 4th. Jörg Hotz SUI had a good day and moved up on the 8th place among the 39 teams.

 Laser Radial & Standard - Euromasters 2017 - Round 2 - Oostende BEL - Day 1, the Swiss Round 2 of the Laser Masters European Circuit (age 35 up) began yesterday in Belgium with moderate winds and a strong current. Two races were completed.
Finishing on the ranks 1 and 3, Wilmar Groenendijk NED has taken the lead in the Lasers Radial 2 points ahead of Max Hunt GBR. Alexandra Weihrauch GER on the 4th place is the best-ranked woman. Jacques Perret SUI is on the 9th position among the 25 participants from 8 nations.
In the Lasers Standard, Rik Wolters NED is on the first place one point in front of Piet Van Damme BEL. Another point behind is Thomas Müller GER on 3rd. The best Swiss is Guy Wuilleret SUI on rank 16, Markus Ochs SUI and Mauro Lentini SUI follow on the ranks 19 and 20. 29 participants from 6 nations.

 Fireball - Swiss Championship 2017 - SV Mammern - Day 3 Light but variable winds of up to 8 kn prevailed yesterday on the Lower Lake Constance allowing to complete another four races at the Fireball Nationals. Claude Mermod/Ruedi Moser RCO added two more bullets on their race results card, confirming their role as favorites, and have now a 5 points' lead on Paruzek/Kosvica CZE.  J/70 - Swiss Sailing Challenge League - Act 2 - SSC Romanshorn - Day 2 Racing continued yesterday in very light winds on Lake Constance at Round 2 of the Swiss Sailing Challenge League (the 2nd League for promotion to the Super League). No changes occurred in the overall rankings. The CN Versoix with Victor Casas extended the lead on top ahead of the SC Tribschenhorn with Jan Van den Broek and the YC Kreuzlingen with Stefan Lion on the ranks 2 and 3.

 420 - Annual Points' Championship 2017 - SC Cham - Day 1 A light Southwind filled in on Lake Zoug with delay late yesterday afternoon, allowing to sail two races. Finishing 1 and 2, Solène Mariani/Maud Schmid CNM took the interim's lead ahead of Nick Zeltner/Till Seger RCO one point behind. lorian Geissbühler/Livio Erni YCB and Morgan Lauber/Léo Tetaz CNM share the 3rd place at equal points. 19 teams participate.

 Contender - Klassenmeisterschaft 2017 - SV Mammern - Day 2 Difficult light-wind conditions prevailed yesterday at the Contender Class Championship during the three races completed. Gernot Götz GER continued his winning streak with the day ranks 1/1/2 extending his lead on Frank Richter GER 2nd and Tobias Hanke GER 3rd. The best Swiss is now Erich Ott SVM on rank 8, Jacqueline Rüfenacht SUI, best woman, follows on rank 9.

 M2-Catamaran, SRS - Bold d'Or du Lac Neuchâtel - Final results The Bol d'Or, the round Lake Neuchâtel race, was held yesterday in mostly light, sometimes moderate winds, ideal conditions for the M2 catamarans, occupying the first 9 ranks overall. After 6 hrs 45 min, 'Satanas' with Christophe Peclard finished first 15 minutes ahead of 'Swiss Medical Network' (Didier Pfister) and 'Team Work' (Arnaud Didisheim). The best monohull, the Luthy 10 of Christophe Dubuis SNR, crossed the finish line with a 1 hrs 45 min backlog on rank 12.

 Drachen, H-Boot, Onyx - Jungfrau-Trophy II - Thunersee YC - Day 1 The traditional Jungfrau-Trophy for Yachts on Lake Thoune began yesterday in a well-established thermal breeze.
In the largest fleet with 14 entrants, the Dragons, Andy Herrmann GER and his team are leading ahead of Norbert Stadler SCSG and Walter Zürcher TYC.
In the H-Boats, Fritz Trudel SMCGW clearly leads ahead of Werner Tiefenbach TYC.
In the Onyx, Ralf Plänkers ZYC and Corinne Meyer TYC share the lead at equal points. Peter Stöckli SCMd follows as 3rd.

 Fireball - Swiss Championship 2017 - SV Mammern - Day 2 After Thursday without sufficient wind to complete a race, a fresh Westwind of up to 30 kn filled in yesterday and 3 races were held, all three won by Mermod/Moser RCO legten 3 always ahead of Paruzek/Kosvica CZE. For today and Sunday, much less wind has been announced.

 Décision 35 - Open de Versoix - CN Versoix - Day 1 The rainy weather with a slowly passing frontal system from the West allowed the 8 Décision-35 to sail only one race on Lake Geneva yesterday. 'Alinghi' (Ernesto Bertarelli SUI) was the winner ahead of 'Mobimo' (Christian Wahl SUI) and 'Zen Too' (Guy de Piccioto SUI). 'Swisscom' (Julien Monnier SUI) and 'Okalys' (Nicolas Grange) with Billy Besson FRA steering are on the ranks 4 an 5.

 Regatta Weekend Switzerland - May 19-21 During this weekend, much activity is running on the Swiss lakes in addition to the Swiss Championships of the Fireballs, Contenders and Lasers Standard & Radial (without news and results up to now). The Swiss Challenge League starts another event today in Romanshorn/Lake Constance, on Lake Neuchâtel, the Bol d'Or long-distance race is on the program, and in addition numerous classes sail annual Championship Rounds on various lakes.
Again, sailing-news.ch is the only medium in Switzerland informing currently every day - also on Sunday - on the racing activities of sailors, clubs and classes.

 Fireball - Swiss Championship 2017 - SV Mammern - Day 1 No wind yesterday on the lower Lake Constance on the first day of the 2017 Fireball Swiss Championship. 29 teams from Switzerland and the Czech Republic are on the entry list. Good condition prevailed however the days before, where the Class held trainings and tune-up heats. Here the video.

Swiss Sailing - President Vincent Hagin resigns on short-notice

 Swiss Sailing - President Vincent Hagin resigns on short-notice Vincent Hagin informed yesterday in an open letter on his immediate retirement from all Swiss Sailing functions. After the quarrels during the past months on the future of the federation, he opens herewith the way to new solutions re the organisation and modifications of the bylaws.
In the search for a President representing the French- and Italian-speaking part of Switzerland, Hagin CNP was elected 6 years ago to bring the disorganised organisation of his predecessor Roger Staub ZYC under control again. However, he failed to run Swiss Sailing to the satisfaction of more and more members.

 Melges 20 - World League, European Division, Act 2 - Scarlino ITA - Final results, Chris Rast SUI Over the past weekend, 31 Melges-20-teams held the 2nd Act of the European Division World League in Scarlino ITA. After 8 races sailed, the clear winner was Achille Onorato ITA (tactics Cameron Appleton NZL) ahead of Krysztof Krempec POL and Valeriy Prosikhin RUS. Orel Kalomeni MON (tactics Chris Rast SUI) followed on rank 18.

 Drachen, Trias, Folkeboot - Eichhorn-Regatta - Staad GER - Final results, the Swiss The three traditional yacht classes sailed three races each on Lake Constance over the past weekend. With 18 teams, the Dragons had the biggest fleet and Helmut Schmidt GER and his team were the clear winners with two bullets ahead of Hans-Dieter Lang GER and Hannes Braub GER. The best Swiss Walter Zürcher/Jordy Oral/Mirko Kranich SUI finished on the 8th place. In the Trias (11 teams), Jürgen Greis GER was first. Pius Kornmaier SUI on 4th missed the podium by 3 points.

 Optimist, 420, Laser 4.7 & Radial - Championnat des 3 Lacs - BT La Neuvville Youth sailors of the Jura Lake Region of Swiss Sailing sailed the first round of the Annual Championship in La Neuveville / Lake Bienne over the past weekend. 31 Optimists were present and Simon Mille CVE finished first ahead of Matthew Chassot BT and Matthieu Mille CVE. The only two 420s held a matchrace with Dimitri Niederhauser BT and crew as winner, while in the Lasers 4.7, Yseline Petermann BT and in the Lasers Radial, Joshua Richner SCM (winning all 6 heats) were on top of the rankings.

 Classes ACVL - Championnat du petit Lac - Régate d'ouverture - Crans The 2017 'Petit Lac Championship', the Lower Lake Geneva basin, was kicked-off on Saturday with the Opening Regatta off Cransa.
Winner in the TCF1-classification was the Melges 32 of Jean-Luc Lévèque SNG followed by Christophe Ganz SNG (Melges 32) and Jean-Marc Deryng SNG (Melges 32). In the TCF2-classification, David Vulliez SNLF with his 'Tarangau' was on top ahead of Yvan Glatz CNC on a Luthi and Olivier Laurent SNG on 'Dernière Minute'. Frédy Borboën SNR on his Archambault crossed the finish line after 1h 47min as first in the TCF3-rankings and taking the line honours, in front of the Longtze of Milko Mantero SNNY on 2nd and the Melges 24 of Hans-Peter Bichelmeier SNG as 3rd. In the Surprise, Hervé Guinnard SNPr was first ahead of Caroline Cartier and Yann Bonjour CNF.

 Star - 17th District Championship - Überlingen GER - Final results, the Swiss As on Saturday, there was not enough wind on Lake Constance yesterday and the rankings after the three race of Friday become final. Steffen Schneider/Uli Seeberger GER finished first ahead of Uwe Barth/Steffen Rutz GER. Reinhard Schmidt/Michael Ziller GER follow as 3rd.  J/70, Dyas - May Opening - Tutzing GER - Final results, the Swiss Both classes sailed three races on Lake Starnberg over the past weekend.
In the J/70, Steffi Rothweiler GER finished first 2 points ahead of Maximilian Weiss GER. Julian Flessati SUI was 5th in the 25 boats' fleet.
In the Dyas, the winners were Christoph Welsch/Laurenz Welsch GER in front of Schulz/Schulz GER and Mielke/Meier GER. Peter Brandt/Regula Bärlocher SUI on the 4th place among 10 boats missed the podium by one point only.

 J/70 - Swiss Sailing Super League - Act 2 - Zürcher SC - Final results No racing on Lake Zürich due to lack of a well established wind, and the rankings after 5 races become final. First of a trio separated by one point only is the RC Oberhofen with Alain Stettler ahead of the SV Kreuzlingen with Tom Rüegge, winners of Act 1 two weeks ago, at equal points. One point behind follows the RC Bodensee with Massimo Soriano as 3rd.

 Optimist, Laser 4.7, RS Feva - Championnat Junior ACVL - CN Pully - Final results Lull conditions prevailed unfortunately at the Lake Geneva Youth Championship off Pully/Lausanne during the past weekend, and only one race per fleet could be completed on Sunday.
In the Lasers 4.7 (10 boats), Romain Lenormand SNG finished first, in the Optimists (65 boats), Jeanlou Lauber CNM was on top ahead of Viktoria Jedlinska CNV and Alexandre Grognuz CVVT. Best among the 12 RS Feva teams were Alexander Ott/Giuliano Zennaro CVN.

 A-Cat, Flying Phantom - Weekend - CN Versoix Good conditions prevailed on Lake Geneva off Versoix yesterday after the light-wind race of Saturday, and four more races were held.
André Casanova FRA defended his first placed in the A-Cats with a 7 points' advantage on Dominik Peikert SUI 2. Loïc Dony FRA finished 3rd among the 18 participants.
In the Flying Phantom, the winners were Bruno Barbarin/Cédric Schmidt CNV ahead of Kristoffer Jonsson/Janik Roempp SNG in the 6 boats' fleet.

 Dolphin, D-One, Musto-Skiff - Annual Points' Championship - RC Oberhofen Lake Thoune was blessed with fresh winds on Sunday, and some of the high-performance dinghies went for a swim in the still cold water.
In the Dolphins (10 teams), Beat Aebischer TYC won 4 of the 5 races, ending clearly on top ahead of Christoph Schenker TYC. Five participants started in the D-One-Dinghies and Michael Mutti RCO finished first ahead of Nicholas Crickmore GBR. British was the winner also in the Musto-Skiffs with John Archer GBR ahead of Dominik Wälchli RCO and Pierre-Yves Pfister CNM.

470 - European Championship 2017 - Monaco MON - Final results, the Swiss

 470 - European Championship 2017 - Monaco MON - Final results, the Swiss No wind, no Medal Races yesterday in Monaco and the rankings of Friday become final. Carl-Frederik Fock/Marcus Dackhammar SWE are the new European Champions in the 470 men and Afrodite Zegers/Anneloes Van Veen NED take Gold in the 470 women.
The newly composed team Guillaume Pirouelle/Jérémy Mion FRA finished on the 2nd place ahead of the Olympic Champions Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS on 3rd in the Open rankings. As 3rd European team, Jordi Xammar/Nicolas Rodriguez ESP grasped the European's Bronze Medal. For Yves Mermod/Cyril Schüpbach SUI, the Championship ended on Friday with the 42nd rank overall in their first big international Championship.
Behind the new 470 women Champions Afrodite Zegers/Anneloes Van Veen NED, favorites in Monaco after their Worldcup victoriy in Hyères end of April, follows the surprise team Elena Berta/Sveva Carraro ITA. Anna Skrzypulec/Jolanta Ogar POL take Bronze. Thursday was the disaster day for Linda Fahrni/Maja Siegenthaler SUI with a collision damaging the hull eliminating them from that race. They had a DNC in a second race and the Swiss were relegted on rank 17 far away from a Medal Race qualification, as the Jury decided against the Swiss in a much disputed hearing.

 J/70 - Swiss Super Sailing League - Act 2 - Zürcher SC - Day 2 Good conditions prevailed on Lake Zurich, including some gusts in a passing thunderstorm, and all 12 teams sailed another 3 races. The RC Oberhofen with Alain Stettler defended the first place, but SV Kreuzlingen with Tom Rüegge is only 0,2 points back. RC Bodensee with Massimo Soriano follows on rank 3.

 470 - European Championship 2017 - Monaco MON - Day 5, the Swiss Yesterday, the 470 Europeans Qualification Series for today's Medal Races were concluded.
Three team still have a chance for the title in the 470 women: Afrodite Zegers/Anneloes Van Veen NED are clearly on pole with a 7 points' lead over Elena Berta/Sveva Carraro ITA. Agnieszka Skrzypulec/Jolanta Ogar POL are another 6 points back. Not far behind are 4 teams with an option for Bronze, and today's final race will be exciting. The Medal Race will take place without Linda Fahrni/Maja Siegenthaler SUI. After the collision of Thursday that ended with a disqualification, they missed the first race yesterday and dropped out of the top-10 to rank 17 overall.
Carl-Frederik Fock/Marcus Dackhammar SWE start to the Medal Race with a solid 9 points' lead on Guillaume Pirouelle/Jérémy Mion FRA. Only 1 point more have Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS and a theoretical chance for the title remains in the double-points-no-discard final race.
Sailing in the Silverfleet, Yves Mermod/Cyril Schüpbach SUI finish their first big international Championship on rank 41 among the 49 teams.

 Mini 650 - Mini en Mai - La Trinité-sur-Mer FRA - Day 4, the Swiss 35 of the 55 Solo-Skippers still in the race had reached the finish at La Trinité FRA by this morning. Behind the stellar winner Ian Lipinski POL - as reported yesterday - Erwan Le Mené FRA and Romain Bolzinger FRA complete the podium. Yann Burkhalter SUI finished this morning as 29th.

 470 - European Championship 2017 - Monaco MON - Day 4, the Swiss After three light-wind days, a fresh Eastwind around 25 kn and 4 meter waves completely changed the stage at the 470 Europeans and the big-breeze specialists could improve their overall rankings.
Afrodite Zegers/Anneloes Van Veen NED finished 1 and 2 yesterday and advanced from rank 16 to rank 1. At equal points on the 2nd place follow Agnieszka Skrczypulek/Jolanta Ogar POL, and 2 points behind on the 3rd position are now Amy Seabright/Anna Carpenter GBR. Linda Fahrni/Maja Siegenthaler SUI finished 10th in the first race and were forced to abandon the second race after a massive collision with damages. As 9th, 9 points ahead of rank 11, they will fight today for the Medal Race qualification in moderate winds according to the forecast.
Carl-Fredrik Fock/Niklas Dackhammar SWE remained on top of the 470 men, while Pirouelle/Mion FRA finishing 2 and 3 yesterday moved up on rank 2. Denis Cinar/Ates Cinar TUR follow on the 3rd place. The key favorites Belcher/Ryan AUS abandoned the 2nd race and follow on rank 4 with a 12 points' backlog. Yves Mermod/Cyril Schüpbach SUI sailing in the Silverfleet are on rank 40.

 Windsurfing - RS:X-European Championship 2017 - Marseille FRA - Day 4, the Swiss The 30 kn plus Eastwind over the Marseille Gulf was too much for the over 200 windsurfers at the RS:X Europeans. The final three races today - in moderate winds according to the forecast - will therefore be crucial for the qualification to the Quarterfinal of the best 12. The gaps between the ranks are small and exciting racing can be expected for today.
First in the RS:X men is Dorian Van Rijsselberge NED ahead of Pawel Tarnowski POL and Nimrod Masiah ISR. Mateo Sanz-Lanz SUI is 67th among the 108 participants.
In the RS:X women, Hélène Moesmoen FRA is first ahead of Lilian De Geus NED and Maja Dziarnowska POL.

 Mini 650 - Mini en Mai - La Trinité-sur-Mer FRA - Day 3, the Swiss Ian Lipinski POL with his round-bow-mini 'Griffon.fr' crossed the finishline this morning at 3 a.m. UTC as winner of the Mini-en-Mai Regatta. His advantage is huge as the first chasers Erwan Leméné FRA and Romain Bolzinger FRA were still 70 nm behind this morning. They will arrive towards this evening in La Trinité FRA.  470 - European Championship 2017 - Monaco MON - Day 3, the Swiss Light winds prevailed again on the third day of the 470 Europeans off Monaco and just one race could be completed. The 470 men's Silverfleet did not race at all.
New on top of the women overall are Noya Aram/Nina Amir ISR winning the race of the day. Elena Berta/Sveva Carraro ITA advanced on rank 2. The former leaders Mafalda Pires/Mariana Lobato POR are now on 3rd with a 6 points' backlog. Linda Fahrni/Maja Siegenthaler SUI sailed their discard result yesterday - rank 15 - but they kept the 8th place overall.
Leader change in the men's, sailing their first Goldfleet race. Carl-Frederik Fock/Niklas Dackhammar SWE are now first ahead of the day's race winners Deniz Cinar/Ates Cinar TUR and Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS down on the 3rd position. Yves Mermod/Cyril Schüpbach SUI as 37th in the Silverfleet did not sail.

 Windsurfing - RS:X-European Championship 2017 - Marseille FRA - Day 3, the Swiss Lay day in Marseille yesterday, and today, the Final Series with the fleet split in Gold and Silver rounds will begin.
The Olympic Champion Dorian Van Rijsselberge NED enters the Finals with a one-point's lead. Pawel Tarnowski POL and Nimrod Mashiah ISR are the first presuers. As 67th, the World Ranking nbr one Mateo Sanz-Lanz SUI has to content himself with the Silverfleet. He was not at all at easy with the very strong winds in the first races of the Championship.  Mini 650 -Mini en Mai - Lorient FRA - Day 2, the Swiss Yesterday, the start to the 'Min en Mai', the next round of the Annual Championship of the Mini 650 Solo skippers, was given at La Trinité FRA. The dominator of the class Ian Lipinski POL has a clear overall and Protos lead after half of the race. Yann Burkhalter SUI follows as 27th in the middle of the fleet.
Here the race tracker with positions. Bad luck for the other Swissr: Simon Koster SUI had to refrain from starting as he discovered damages at the keel suspension. Valentin Gautier SUI was caught by a lower back pain shortly after the start and was forced to abandon the race.
