470 European Championship 2012 Largs GBR Day 6
The last races of the qualification phase were sailed yesterday in very light winds, and and today, the Medal Races are on the program. In the 470 men, the title is already awarded, as Sime Fantela/Igor Marencic CRO, the defending champions, have a 22 point's lead already. Ben Saxton/Richard Mason GBR and three points behind Mikhail and Maksim Sheremeteyev RUS will race for Silver- and Bronze. Yannick Brauchli/Romuald Hausser SUI, 8th overall have qualified for the Medal Race, yesterday again with a very good 3rd and a mediocre 15th place.
The situation is very exciting in the 470 women, where Sophie Weguelin/Sophie Ainsworth GBR are only 2 points ahead of Annika Bochmann/Elisabeth Panuschka GER, and the backlog of the 3rd-ranked Tina Mrak/Teja Cerne SLO is another two points only. It remains fully open who will earn which Medal. Fiona Testuz/Anne-Sophie Thilo SUI new on rank 7 can also start in the Medal Race today. The daily report and the video of the day.
