Olympic Classes - Semaine Olympic Française - Hyères FRA - Day 5

Yesterday again, Hyères experienced fresh winds of up to 22 knots. The first classes to close the Olympic Week were the iQ windsurfers and the Formula kitesurfers. ----- Max Maeder SGP remained unbeaten in Formula-Kite in Hyères too, and the Singaporean with Swiss roots will also be the big favorite in Marseille. Toni Vodisek SLO and Axel Mazella FRA completed the podium. ----- In the women's Formula Kite, Jessie Kampman FRA managed to dislodge Eleanor Aldridge GBR from the top spot in the final, with Lauriane Nolot FRA finishing 3rd. ----- Surprise in the men's iQ-Foils: Ethan Westera ARU (Aruba), 8th qualifier for the Medal Races, made it through to the final of the best 4, where he also managed to beat Grae Morris AUS, who had dominated all week. Nacho Baltasar ESP came third. Elia Colombo SUI, 11th, just missed out on the Medal Race. ----- In the women's iQ-Foils, Tamar Steinbeck ISR won ahead of Mina Mobekk NOR and Palma Cargo CRO. ----- Anton Dahlberg/Lovisa Karlsson SWE maintained their lead in the 470s with another race win. Camille Lecointre/Jérémy Mion FRA are just 2 points behind. Yves Mermod/Maja Siegenthaler SUI managed to climb back up to 16th place with 11th and 12th places on the day. ----- In the 49er class, Diego Botin/Florian Trittel ESP are now in the lead. Sébastien Schneiter/Arno De Planta SUI in 9th place are on course for the medal race. ----- Despite an early start disqualification, Marit Bouwmeester NED remained on top of the ILCA 6, while Emma Plaschaert BEL moved up to 2nd place thanks to 2 race wins. Anja Von Allmen SUI is 28th, Maud Jayet SUI has abandoned the series. ----- In the ILCA 7, Olympic champion Matthew Wearn has taken the lead, but Michael Beckett GBR is only 2 points behind.
