Mini 650 - Mini-Transat - La Rochelle FRA - Leg 1 - Day 3, the Swiss

After two days upwind sailing in a westerly wind, the direction changed to North-East yesterday and the Minis, approaching Cap Finisterre, accelerated to up to 10 kn surfing downwind.
Yesterday evening at 21h CET, Erwan Le Mené FRA was on top of the Protos 0,5 nm ahead of Ian Lipinski POL. Jörg Riechers GER followed as 3rd with a 5 nm backlog. The extreme southern course of Simon Koster SUI did not really pay up to now and on rank 11, he is already 22 nm behind the leaders. Hopefully, the fresher wind off the Spanish North Coast during the past night - he was the fastest yesterday evening with 10,2 kn - will help to make good some distance.
In the Series-Minis, Erwan Le Draoulec FRA and 0,1 nm behind Rémi Aubrun FRA were on top. Clarisse Cremer FRA followed a mile behind on rank 3. Valentin Gautier SUI as 5th is now 6 nm back. Yann Burkhalter SUI defended the 12th place.
