Beach-Catamarans - Cata-Tour - St.Barth FRA - Day 1, the Swiss

The Cata-Cup on the French Caribbean island St-Barthelemy, attracting every year a number of teams to enjoy some warm and sunny days, began yeterday with a 20nm race around the island. The favorites have taken the lead with the Tornado World Champions Iordanis Paschalidis/ Konstantinos Trigkonis GRE as first, overtaking the constantly leading Pierre Le Clainche/Antoine Joubert FRA just before the finish line. On rank 3 followed Franck Cammas/Matthieu Vandame FRA. The best Swiss Eric Le Bouedelec/Jean-Richard Minardi SUI finished as 14th, Martin Jöhr/Joachim Piehl SUI followed as 23rd among the 49 teams from 12 nations.
