After the three races on the opening day, Pierre Le Coq FRA has taken the lead in the RS:X men windsurfers ahead of Kiran Badloe NED and Tom Squires GBR. In the fight for the remaining eight 2020 Olympic nations berths had Hongkong (rank 8), the USA (10th), South Korea (14th) and Belarus (15th the best start. Mateo Sanz-Lanz SUI on rank 26 brought Switzerland as 5th nation among the qualifying candidates, 3 points in front of Lituania. ----- In the RS:X women windsurfers, Marta Maggetti ITA is on top 3 points ahead of Emma Wilson GBR, Zofia Noceti-Klepacka POL and Maya Morris ISR on the ranks 2 to 4. Best of the so far in the Pre-Olympics and Worldcup in Japan dominating Chinese women is Peina Chen CHN on rank 10. ----- Three races were held yesterday on Lake Garda in both fleets, the men in a 12-16kn Peler (Northwind) and the women in an intital 10kn, freshening to 15kn Ora (Southwind) in the afternoon. ----- The news with the ranking lists.
