GC32-Catamaran - World Championship 2018 - Riva ITA - Day 3

 GC32-Catamaran - World Championship 2018 - Riva ITA - Day 3 The top "Ora" conditions at th GC32 Worlds on Lake Garda stayed on yesterday and another 5 races were sailed in a 15kn breeze. 'Team Tilt' with Sébastien Schneiter finished again all heats in the top-4 and defended rank 1, but 'SAP Extreme Sailing Team' with Adam Minoprio NZL, best of the day, reduced the gap on the leaders on 2 points and the Worlds title will go to either one in the last races today. 'Oman Air' (Phil Robertson NZL) on the 3rd place is alreadys 17 points behind. The fight for Bronze will be very close as only one point behind 'Oman Air' are 'Alinghi' (Ernesto Bertarelli SUI), 'Norauto' with Franck Cammas FRA (backlog 4 points) and 'INEOS Rebels UK' with Leigh McMillan GBR (backlog 7 points).

Olympic Classes - Medemblik Regatta - Medemblik NED - Final results

 Olympic Classes - Medemblik Regatta - Medemblik NED - Final results Sun and moderate winds prevailed yesterday during the Medemblik-Regatta Medal Races.
Zofia Noceti-Klepacka POL was the clear winner in the RS:X women windsurfers ahead of Lilian De Geus NED. In the RS:X men, the leading Marciej Kluszczynski POL sailed his worst result of the week (8th) and was replaced on top by Yoav Cohen ISR.
In the 49ers, Lucas Rual/Emile Amoros FRA were the clear winners ahead of Gilmour/Turner AUS and Lange/Lange ARG. Chris Rast USA/SUI/Trevor Burd USA advanced on rank 8 overall, thanks to an 8th race rank in the Medal Race. In the 49erFX, Charlotte Dobson/Saskia Tidey GBR replaced the leading Annemiek Bekkering/Anette Duetz NED by one point.
Eliot Hansen GBR was the premature winner in the Lasers ahead of Yuri Hummel NED und Eliot Merceron SUI. Daphne Van der Vaart NED finished first in the Radials Medal Race as well as overall ahead of Maxime Jonker NED and Veronika Vorobeva CRO.
In the Nacra 17, Fernando Echevarri/Tara Pacheco ESP defended the first place ahead of Jones/Saunders NZL and Gimson/Burnett GBR.

 VOR65 - Ocean Race 2017/18 - Leg 9 - Day 7 After the crossing of a last lull zone - not all 7 teams are through yet - the final sprint to Cardiff lies ahead. 440nm were left and the first arrivals will cross the finish line by this evening. 'AkzoNobel' (Simeon Tienpont NED) improved the 24-hour-record once more with 602,5nm (1116km). The Dutch defended rank 1 with a 7nm advantage on 'Brunel' (Bouwe Bekking NED. 'Dongfeng' followed on rank 3, and would reclaim the first place overall. 'Mapfre' (Xavi Fernandez ESP) on rank 5 has a 40nm backlog.

 Dragon - Hungarian Championship 2018 - Balatonfüred HUN - Final results Yesterday, the Hungarian Dragon National Championship was concluded without additional races. Dimitry Samokhin RUS and his team grasped the title ahead of Igor Iwashintcow RUS and Jens Rathsack MON. Dirk Oldenburg SUI finished 10th, Garlef Baum SUI and Urs Ruppli SUI followed on the ranks 13 and 14.

Erwan Le Mené FRA with his Proto was first ahead of François Jambo FRA and Jörg Riechers GER. On rank 5 followed Valentin Gautier SUI as 2nd in the Series-Minis. Mathieu Gobet SUI followed as 50th.

 GC32-Catamaran - World Championship 2018 - Riva ITA - Day 2 - Team Tilt SUI takes the lead Top "Ora" conditions prevailed yesterday with a 15-18kn wind and the full 5-race-program was completed. Finishing all heats in the top-3, Swiss 'Team Tilt' (SN Geneva) of Sébastien Schneiter SUI and Glenn Ashby AUS has taken the overall lead after a mediocre opening day. On rank 2 at equal points with the Swiss is 'Oman Sail' with Phil Robertson AUS. Only one point back is 'Alinghi' with Ernesto Bertarelli SUI also well placed in the race for the World Champion's title.

 Finn - World Masters 2018 - El Balis ESP - Final results - Title for José-Luis Doreste ESP 30 years after his Olympic Finn Gold, José-Luis Doreste ESP grasped the Finn World Masters title. Finishing 2nd and 6th in the two moderate-wind races, he finished first overalls two points ahead of Antonio Poncell CHI Silver and Giacomo Giovanelli ITA Bronze. 353 participants.

 Olympic Classes - Medemblik Regatta - Medemblik NED - Day 4 The Qualification for the Medal Races were concluded yesterday on the ijssel Meer in moderate winds from the inlands.
The final decision in the Lasers Standard was made prematurely, as the leader Elliot Hansen GBR is 22 points ahead of Yuri Hummel NED on rank 2. Eliot Merceron SUI on 3rd is another 8 points behind and will fight for Silver today. In the Lasers Radial, Daphne Van der Vaart NED is 11 points ahead of Elena Vorobeva CRO. Maxime Joncker NED follows on rank 3.
In the Nacra 17, the situation is fully open with Fernando Echevarri/Tara Pacheco ESP only 5 points ahead of Gemma Jones/Jason Saunders NZL, and another 5 points back, John Gimson/Anna Burnet GBR have also a chance for the overall win.
Lucas Rual/Emile Amoros FRA start to the 49er Medal Race with a 12 points advantage on Gilmour/Turner AUS new on 2nd as best of the day. In the 49ersFX, Annemiek Bekkering/Annette Duetz NED defended their lead. Dobson/Tidey GBR follow 3 points behind. Livia Naef/Nelia Puhze SUI had a good day yesterday with the ranks 2/5/bfd, and moved up on rank 16 overall.
In the RS:X men windsurfers, Macieij Kluszczyinski POL has 7 points' lead on Yoav Cohen ISR before today's final. Zofia Noceti-Klepacka POL on top of the RS:X women with a 17 points' advantage will hardly be replaced on top.

AkzoNobel' (Simeon Tienpont NED) leads 6nm ahead of 'Brunel' (Bouwe Bekking NED). 'Dongfeng' (Charles Caudrelier FRA) follows on 3rd with a 46nm backlog. Today, a lull zone has to be passed and it might well be, that the positions will be quite different by tomorrow morning UTC.

 Dragon - Hungarian Championship - Balatonfüred HUN - Day 3 Instable winds between 4 and 12kn and some rain prevailed yesterday at the Dragon Hungarian Championship, and three races could be completed. The new leaders are Dimitry Samokhin RUS and his team, but the direct opponents - Vasiliy Senatorov RUS, Jens Rathsack MON and Ian Bradbury GBR - are only a few points behind. Two more races are on the program today.

470 - European Championship 2018 - Bourgas BUL - Final results

 470 - European Championship 2018 - Bourgas BUL - Final results Excellent conditions prevailed also on the final day during the Medal Races of the 470 European Championships on the Black Sea in Bulgaria
The 470 men winners Anton Dahlberg/ Frederik Bergström SWE were known prematurely before the last heat, but nevertheless, the confirmed their superiority winning the Medal Race as well. Stuart McNay/David Hughes USA defended their 2nd place overall. Panagiotis Mantis/Pavlos Kagialis GRE and Malte Winkel/Matti Cipra GER ranks 3 and 4 grasped Silver and Bronze in the European Championship rankings.
Tina Mrak/Veronica Macarol SLO kept their big advantage winning their second European title after 2016. On rank 2 followed Frederike Loewe/Anna Markfort GER, and Nadine Böm/Ann-Christin Golliass GER took the Bronze Medal. First in the Medal Race were Linda Fahrni/Maja Siegenthaler SUI moving up on rank 6 overall.

 Olympic Classes - Medemblik Regatta - Medemblik NED - Day 3 Fresher winds filled in for the first time on the Ijssel Meer allowing the Nacra 17 catamarans to fly.
In RS:X women windsurfers, Stefania Elfutina RUS took the lead ahead of Zofia Noceti POL at equal points. Maciej Kluszczynski POL renmained on top of the RS:X men windsurfers. Winning two races, Kieran Holmes GBR advanved on the 2nd placed.
In the Lasers Standard, the leader Elliot Hanson GBR has now a 7 points advantage on Etienne Le Pen FRA, Niels Broekhuizen NED moved up on rank 3. Eliot Merceron SUI remains on rank 5. In the Lasers Radial, Daphne Van der Vaart NED has now a 4 points lead on Maxime Jonker NED.
No change in the 49ers: Lucas Rual/Emile Amoros FRA remain on top ahead of Yago Lange/Klaus Lange ARG. Chris Rast SUI/USA/Trevor Burd USA advanced on rank 9. In the 49erFX, Annemiek Bekkering/Anette Duetz NED are now only 2 points in front of Charlotte Dobson/Saskia Tidey GBR. Livia Naef/Nelia Puhze SUI follow on rank 19.

 VOR65 - Ocean Race 2017/18 - Leg 9 - Day 5 - New 24 hour record ! Strong gradient winds from the south allowed fast reaching yesterday. 'AkzoNobel' (Simeon Tienpont NED) leading the fleet now, set a new 24-hour-record for the VOR65-class: 579miles. Just a few miles behind 'AkzoNobel' follows the second Dutch team 'Brunel' (Bouwe Bekking NED). 'Vestas' (Charlie Enright USA) on 3rd is already 35 miles back.  GC32-Catamaran - World Championship 2018 - Riva ITA - Day 1 In the typical Lake Garda thermal winds, the GC32 World Championship started yesterday afternoon with two races. Double victory for Switzerland with 'Alinghi' (Ernesto Bertarelli SUI) and 'Realteam' (Jerôme Clerc SUI in the first race. The 2nd race saw the young British Team 'Ineos Rebels UK' mit Leigh McMillan GBR on top while the Swiss struggeled after premature starts. In the overall rankings Leigh McMillan GBR is leding followed by 'Red Bull Sailing Team' with two time Olympic Goldmedallist Roman Hagara AUT.  Finn - World Masters 2018 - El Balis ESP - Day 4 Bad luck for the huge 353 boats Finn fleet at their World Masters in El Balis ESP. Only on one of the four race days up to now, sailing was possible, i.e. yesterday another no-wind-day.
Instead of the Medal Race planned for today, additional fleetraces shall be held ... provided there is enought wind.

 VOR65 - Ocean Race 2017/18 - Leg 9 - Day 4 The variable winds stayed on over the Atlantic Ocean yesterday ! During the past 24h, the wind changed from East to South, bringing the southern group back in the lead. In reaching conditions, the VOR65 chase at velocities of up to 26kn with 'Brunel' (Bouwe Bekking NED) now 9nm in front of 'Akzo Nobel' (Simeon Tienpont NED) and 15nm of 'Vestas' (Charlie Enright USA). The first boat of the northern pack, 'Dongfeng' (Charles Caudrelier FRA), is 44nm behind the leader.

Zofia Noceti-Klepacka POL moved up on rank 1 In the RS:X women windsurfers ahead of Stefania Elfutina RUS. In the RS:X men, Macieij Kluszczynski POL booked 3 races wins and is now on top 2 points head of Yoav Cohen ISR.
No change in the 49ers with Rual/Amoros FRA now 6 points in front of Lange/Lange ARG. In the 49erFX, Annemiek Bekkering/Annette Duetz NED and Charlotte Dobson/Saskia Tidey GBR share now the lead. Livia Naef/Nelia Puhze SUI defended their midfleet place as 19th.

 470 - European Championship 2018 - Bourgas BUL - Day 4 Perfect conditions with sun and an 18kn wind prevailed again on the 4th day of the 470 Europeans in Bulgaria and both fleets completed 3 races each.
With the day ranks 2/2/1, Tina Mrak/Veronica Macarol SLO took the overall lead in the 470 women. Gil Cohen/Noa Lasry ISR are down on 2nd with a 2 points deficit. New on rank 3 are Amy Seabright/Anna Carpenter GBR. The Qualification Series for tomorrow's Medal Race will be concluded today with two races.
Leader change in the 470 men, where Anton Dahlberg/Fredrik Bergström SWE are now first with the day ranks 2/2/1. Mantis/Kagialis GRE on rank 2 are 10 points back. Sozykin/Gribanov RUS remain on the 3rd place.

 VOR65 - Ocean Race 2017/18 - Leg 9 - Day 3 After two fast days with easterly winds, the breeze has shifted East forcing the team to sail upwind, a wet and rough affair. See the video. The southern group with the leading 'Brunel' (Bouwe Bekking NED) extended their lead somewhat. 'Dongfeng' (Charles Caudrelier FRA), the best-placed boat in the North, is 44nm back. The variable wind will cause some more position changes today.

 Olympic Classes - Medemblik Regatta - Medemblik NED - Day 1 The Medemblik Regatta (previously Delta Lloyd Regatta) on the Ijssel Meer began yesterday in light, lateron freshening winds. All Olympic classes - except the Finns and 470s sailing important Class regattas in other venues - completed the full program.
Maja Dziarnowska POL and Zofia Noceti-Klepacka POL share the lead in the RS:X female windsurfers after 3 races. Shared lead also in the RS:X male windsurfers with Yoav Cohen ISR and Maciej Kluszcyinski POL.
In the Lasers Standard, Elliot Hansen GBR is first ahead of Yuri Hummel NED and Eliot Merceron SUI. Maxime Jonker NED won both heats in the Lasers Radial.
