VOR65 - Ocean Race 2017/18 - Gothenburg - Inport Race

 VOR65 - Ocean Race 2017/18 - Gothenburg - Inport Race In Gothenburg the 7 teams of the Volvo Ocean Race sailed their last Inport-Race of this year's edition. In moderate winds it was 'Vestas' with Charlie Enright USA who crossed the finish line first. Behind 'AkzoNobel' (Simeon Tienpont NED) 'Mapfre' (Javi Fernandez ESP) finished 3rd and secured the overall victory in the Inport-Rankings. The report and the video.

GC32-Catamaran - Extreme Sailing Series Act 3 - Barcelona ESP - Final results

 GC32-Catamaran - Extreme Sailing Series Act 3 - Barcelona ESP - Final results In a moderate seabreeze the 3rd act of the Extreme Sailing Series concluded yesterday in Barcelona. 'Alinghi' with Arnaud Psarofaghis SUI defended her lead and moved to the top of the annual ranking. In second place overall on equal points with the Swiss is 'SAP Extreme Sailing' with Adam Minoprio NZL. After finishing second in Barcelona, 'Oman Air' with Phil Robertson NZL is now just one point back in 3rd overall. The report including the ranking list and the videos.

 Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 2 Good conditions prevailed in Kiel yesterday. All classes sailed 4 to 5 races In the huge fleet of the 29ers, who sail the 3rd act of the Eurocup, Berthet/Franks NOR are on top. In the 5o5 Quirk/Jess GER and Köchlin/Achterberg GER share the lead on equal points. Christoph Homeier GER moved up to 1st in the Contender. Lars-Jacob Brodtkorb NOR is leading the Europes. After 4 races sailed König/Brack GER are Nr 1 in the Flying DutchmanD. Best of the 109 Laser 4.7 is Cesare Barabino ITA. In the Laser Radial (open) fleet Julian Hoffmann GER is the first leader.

 Swiss Sailing Super League - Act 3 - YC Luzern - Final results On the final day of the 3rd round of the Super League, another 3 laps were sailed in demanding lightwind conditions. With 2 race wins the SN Genève with Guillaume Rigot secured the overall victory ahead of the RC Bodensee and the RC Oberhofen. In the

Optimist, Laser 4.7 & Radial, RSFeva - Junior Championship ACVL - CN Pully

 Optimist, Laser 4.7 & Radial, RSFeva - Junior Championship ACVL - CN Pully Three more races were completed at the regional junior championship on lake Geneva yesterday. In Optimist Boris Hirsch won SNG one point ahead of Tom Siret CNM, followed by Jean-Loup Lauber CNM in third. 75 boats were competing. In the Laser 4.7 Farah Imbert CNV won the overall with three more daily wins ahead of Aris Dimitracopouls CNP. In the Laser Radial the winner is Lucie De Gennes CNP and in the RS Feva Alexander Ott / Antoine Bize CNV finished on top of the leaderboard.

 Flying Phantom, C-Cat - Catamaran Open - SN Genève A great turnout and good local thermal made for an animated cat weekend in Geneva. With 4 victories in 6 races, Bruno Barbarin / Cédric Schmidt CVN won in the foiling Flying Phantom/URL] class ahead of Maxime Bachelin / Matthieu Ravussin CVN.  Star - Swiss Star Cup Act 3 - Colomba Cup - Zürcher YC No racing was possible on Saturday on the lake of Zurich due to very light and unsteady winds. After a long wait, two rather short races could be completed on Sunday afternoon in a light southerly wind. The victory went to Bernhard Seger / Walter Oess with the ranks 3 and 2. Stoeckli / Gouda (2/3) finished second on equal points. Third was the team Ryffel / Heinz who had a sixth and a 1st.

 J/70 - European Championship 2018 - Vigo ESP - Final results Big surprise on the final day of the J/70 Europeans in Vigo ESP ! In a moderate seabreeze former TP52 and Farr 40 world champion Alberto Rossi ITA succeded to pass Peter Duncan USA with an almost perfect day (1/2) by one single point and grab the title. Bronze goes to the local youngsters with Luis Bugallo ESP (22 y) helming, who won the corinthian title as well. The final results, the report and the video of the day.

 GC32-Catamaran - Extreme Sailing Series 2018 - Act 3 - Barcelona ESP - Day 3 On day 3 of the Extreme Sailing Series in Barcelona eight further races were sailed in a moderate seabreeze yesterday. 'Alinghi' with Arnaud Psarofaghis SUI had a strong day. With five race victories they managed to take the lead in the overall standings. Ten points back Adam Minoprios NZL 'SAP Extreme Sailing Team' moved up to 2nd. Roman Hagara AUT and his 'Redbull Sailing Team' fell back to 3rd after they were disqualified for a collision with 'Oman Air' (Phil Robertson NZL) who had to retire for the last 3 races. Both teams are now on equal points 21 points behind 'Alinghi. The results and the daily report.

 Moth - Eurocup 2018 - Act 3 - Lake Achen AUT - Day 2 Good conditions with thermal winds prevailed on the 2nd day of the Eurocup (and Austrian Championship) on lake Achen, where another 5 races have been sailed yesterday. With four race victories Maximilian Mäge GER was the man of the day. However, in the overall rankings he is only 11th place as he was not sailing on the first day. Still on top Michael Schönleitner AUT 6 points ahead of Philipp Hribar AUT 2. The results.

 Contender, Hobie 16, IRC - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 1 On the starting day of this year's Kiel Week apparently there was not much wind, just enough for one race for the Contender, the Hobie 16 and the big boats. Volker Niedeck GER was successful in the Contender and Jens Goritz/Kerstin Wichardt GER won the race in the Hobie 16 class. All other rankings. We couldn't find a daily report on the event website.

 Swiss Sailing Super League - Act 3 - YC Luzern - Day 2 Light and shifty winds prevailed on the first two days of the third act of the Swiss Sailing League. Apparently 4 laps were sailed on Friday already. Unfortunately we were unable to find any updated information about it yesterday. Yesterday five further rounds were held. Team SN Genève (helmsman unknown) is leading ahead of RC Bodensee with Julian Flessati and the RC Oberhofen with Alain Stettler. Currently in 11th position is SV Kreuzlingen with Tom Rüegge, who had previously won the first two acts. The ranking report.

 Optimist, Laser 4.7 & Radial, RS Feva - ACVL Youth Championships - CN Pully - Day 1 The junior championship of the Lake Geneva Region kicked off in Pully yesterday. In the 75-strong Optimist fleet, Jeanlou Lauber CNM won the only race of the day ahead of Alexander De Weck SNG and Boris Hirsch SNG. Two races were held in the RSFeva, the first leaders are Miguel Viera / Niklas Shaw CNV. In the Lasers 4.7, Farah Imbert CNV leads one point ahead of Jonas Barraud CNP. Lucie de Gennes CNP managed to win the match race of the only two participating Laser Radials yesterday. All Leaderboards.

 J/70 - European Championship 2018 - Vigo ESP - Day 4 After the morning mist had cleared a nice 17 knots seabreeze set in on the fourth day of the championship yesterday. 2 further races were sailed. Peter Duncan USA and his team have been able to defend their lead, but they have lost some of their comfortable lead. The second placed Alberto Rossi ITA managed to reduce the gap to 14 points. Third is Louis Bugallo ESP. As the daily best with two race wins, Gustavo Doreste ESP advanced to fourth place overall. Fredrik Hestlund SUI is still 26th, Stefan Seger SUI follows on 33rd. The new leader is 'Oman Air' with Phil Robertson NZL, just one point ahead of 'Alinghi' SUI with Arnaud Psarofaghis SUI.  Moth - Eurocup 2018 - Act 3 - Achensee AUT - Day 1 The 3rd Act of the Moth Eurocup kicked off in Tirol yesterday. Five races were completed, of which Michael Schönleitner AUT managed to win 2 and take the lead in the overall standings. With 2 points behind Philipp Hribar AUT follows in second, another 2 points behind is Maximilian Stelzl AUT 3. At the start are 23 participants from 5 nations. The ranking (PDF).

Kiel Week - Kiel GER - First races today

 Kiel Week - Kiel GER - First races today Part one of the Kiel Week starts today with the Eurocup of the 29er and the first races of the
5o5er, the Contender and the
Flying Dutchman. There are Swiss boats competing is in the 5o5ern and the FD regattas.
In part two of the Kiel Week (starting Wednesday) the Olympic classes will be in action. For once the fleets are quite large, as many teams use this event last training opportunity ahead of the World Championships of all Olympic classes in Aarhus in July - here all
Entry lists.
Highlights of this year’s edition are the World Championships of the Laser Radial Men and the European Championships of the Paralympic boat classes.
The event website which, despite its redesign, remains a nightmare to navigate this year again.

Apparently, there was not enough wind to complete the first races. On the event website there will be no news this morning. VOR65 - Ocean Race 2017/18 - Göteborg SWE - Leg 10 - Final results

 VOR65 - Ocean Race 2017/18 - Göteborg SWE - Leg 10 - Final results Yesterday in Gothenburg, the 10th leg of the VOR ended in spectacular fashion: 'Brunel' with Bouwe Bekking NED simply drove past 'Mapfre' (Javi Fernandez ESP) with superior speed, taking the win and moving up to 'Mapfre' in the overall standings '. The video (on Facebook).
The standings in the leaderboard ahead of the final lag from Gothenburg SWE to The Hague NED - starting on 21 June - could not be more exciting: 'Mapfre' and 'Brunel' are tied at the top, 'Dongfeng' (Charles Caudrelier FRA) follows just a point behind them. The reports and video of the day.

 J/70 - European Championship 2018 - Vigo ESP - Day 3 After the two windy days at the start of the Championship the conditions were moderate yesterday in Vigo: In 12 knots wind a further 3 races were sailed. With another daily first Peter Duncan USA and his team increased their lead in the overall standings to 24 points. New in second place is Umberto De Luca ITA, just one point ahead of Alberto Rossi.  GC32-Catamaran - Extreme Sailig Series - Act 3 - Barcelona ESP - Day 1 In Barcelona, the 3rd Act of the Extreme Sailing Series kicked off yesterday with winds over 20knots. Roman Hagara AUT with his 'Red Bull Sailing Team' managed the tough conditions best and is the first leader. 3 points behind follows 'SAP Extreme Sailing' with Adam Minoprio NZL in 2nd place. Further 2 points behind in 3 rd are Alinghi with Arnaud Psarofaghis SUI and 'Oman Air' with Phil Robertson NZL on equal points. 'Alinghi' missed two races of the six races due to a damage on the boat, but was able to position himself well in the overall standings with two race wins. The leaderboard and the daily report.

 Olympic Sailing - World Ranking Lists - 11 june 2018 Last week's World Cup final in Marseille brought some changes to the top of the world rankings. Victoria Travascio / Maria Branz ARG took the lead in the 49erFX, Jorge Zarif BRA is the new no. 1 in the Finns and Lilian De Geus NED is the new leader among the windsurfers.
Best-ranked Swiss remains Mateo Sanz-Lanz SUI in the windsurfers, Linda Fahrni / Maja Siegenthaler SUI, who did not sail in Marseille, lost a place and are now 7th in the 470s Women. In Rank 15, Sébastien Schneiter / Lucien Cujean SUI are in 15 th, their best best ever ranking yet in the 49ern. Nils Theuninck SUI moved up to rank 20 in the Finns.

 Match Race - World Ranking List - 12 june 2018 There were no changes at the top of the Match Race World Ranking list: Phil Robertson AUS continues to lead Taylor Canfield ISV and Harry Price AUS. The biggest advance in the ranking this month was managed by Eric Monnin SUI who moved up to fourth place thanks to his victory in Match Race Germany. The Leaderboard.
Anna Kjellberg SWE continues to lead the women, Alexa Bezel SUI improved to 14th. The Women's Ranking.

J/70 - European Championship 2018 - Vigo ESP - Day 2

 J/70 - European Championship 2018 - Vigo ESP - Day 2 Yesterday there was even more wind than on the starting day on the Spanish Atlantic coast. 20-25kn made for spectacular 3 races. Again, the defending champion Peter Duncan USA and his team showed his superiority with 2 race wins. Their lead in the overall standings, however, is only 2 points, as Alberto Rossi ITA with the ranks 1/3/6 kept the pressure on. Paolo Tomsic ITA from Lake Garda, who is also used to stronger winds moved up to 3 rd. Among the three Swiss teams, only Fredrik Hedlund SUI was able to keep up and advanced to rank 24 overall. Stefan Seger SUI and Nicolas Anklin SUI are currently in 37 th and 52 nd of the 69 teams. The best German competitor is Marc-Daniel Mähmann GER in 50th.  VOR65 - Ocean Race 2017/18 - Leg 10 - Day 4 Yesterday, the fleet passed the northern tip of the UK and turned into the home straight towards Gothenburg. The 7 teams continue to sail close together – the top 6 boats are only 10 miles apart, and also the 7 th placed 'Scallywag' (David Witt AUS) is a mere 31 miles behind. There are still 350 miles to go to the finish which will take the fleet around 24 hours to complete. 'Mapfre' (Javi Fernandez ESP) continues to lead. In second place is 'Brunel' (Bouwe Bekking NED), 1.5 miles behind and a further 1.5 miles back is 'Dongfeng' (Charles Caudrelier FRA). The Race Tracker, the reports and the Video of the day.

IRC - Giraglia Race - St.Tropez FRA-Genoa ITA - Day 1

 IRC - Giraglia Race - St.Tropez FRA-Genoa ITA - Day 1 The Giraglia Race – a Mediterranean classic - started in St.Tropez yesterday. A warm up race took place on Tuesday already, which consisted of a long-distance race from San Remo to St. Tropez and a few short races in the bay of St.Tropez - here all Rankings.
After about 20 hours of racing in the 241-mile Giraglia race, the leading boats have already rounded the Giraglia rocks in northern Corsica and are on their way to the finishing line in Genoa. Early this morning they were just 66 miles to sail and the winner is expected to arrive around noon today. Joint leaders are the Maxi 72 'Caol Ila' by Alex Schaerer GBR and the Wally 100 'Magic Carpet' by Lindsay Owens-Jones GBR. Just 0.1 miles behind the leaders is the second Wally 100 'Tango' with Ole Hansen MON. In the IRC-A classification, Jean-Jacques Chaubard leads SUI with his TP52.
