AC-50-Catamaran - 35th America's Cup - Hamilton BER - Day 1 - Racing postponed

Today, the first races of the Louis Vuitton Cup are on the program, but racing had to be postponed to Saturday as the wind forecast for today announces stormy 30 kn plus velocities. According to the new format in place, the Cup Defender i.e. 'Oracle' is allowed to participate in these qualification series. On June 11, the Challenger for the Cup will be determined in a Final Match. Here the program.

Olympic Classes - Delta lloyd Regatta 2017 - Medemblik NED - Day 3

All classes sailed the full program in light winds and summery temperatures yesterday. Many position changes occurred. With a race win, Pawel Sozykin/Denis Gribanov RUS reclaimed rank 1 in the 470s 2 points ahead of Afrodite Zegers/Anneloes Van Veen NED. Another 2 points back are Nikolaus Kampelmühler/Thomas Czajka AUT excellently underway in their first 470 season. In the 49ers, Tim Fischer/Fabian Graf GER advanced again on rank 1 after a perfect day (1/1/3). Jorge Lima/Jose-Luis Costa POR are 2nd one point behind. In the 49erFX, Enia Nincevic/Peiar Cupac CRO defended their lead in front of Annemiek Bekkering/Jeske Kisters NED and Hannah Mills/Alan Sign GBR new on the ranks 2 and 3. Kiran Badloe NED has moved up on rank 1 with two bullets yesterday in the RS:X man windsurfers with a 20 (!) points gap on the Olympic Champion Dorian Van Rijsselberghe NED.

Laser - Delta Lloyd Regatta - Medemblik NED - Day 3

Light winds prevailed yesterday making the day for the leading Matthew Wearn AUS difficult. With a 25th race rank and a premature start disqualification, he dived on rank 11 overall. Fight for the Medal Race cut will be the theme of the day for him during the three races planned. Elliot Hanson GBR is now the sole leader but the gaps between the athletes are minimal. Tonci Stipanovic CRO on rank 2 is one point behind. Pavlos Kontides CYP is is back on 3rd thanks to the discarded result.
As best of the day, rank 5 and 1, Manami Doi JPN has taken the lead in the Lasers Radial at equal points with Tatjana Droszdowskaja BLR. Emma Plaesschart BEL 4 points back is now 3rd. The Olympic Champion Marit Bouwmeester NED on rank 9 has to fight for a Medal Race seat in today's last qualification races in her first international event since the Rio Games.
The Lasers will sail their Medal Races this evening already, to be followed on GPS tracking live.

Sun and good sailing conditions prevailed on the first day of the Dutch Youth Regatta in Workum NED. All classes compleed 2 races. Unfortunately, the ranking lists have not yet been available this morning on the event website, but a report has been posted. Appartently, Felix Baudet SUI leads in the Lasers 4.7.

Star - Swiss Championship 2017 - Steckborn - Day 1

The Starboat Swiss Championship began yesterday on the Lower Lake Constance off Steckborn. The light 8-10 kn northeasterly wind across the small lake made sailing difficult and two races had to be abandoned due to unfair conditions. However, two shortened races could be validated. With the ranks 1 and 4, the first leaders are Jean-Pascal Chatagny/Serge Pulfer CVG one point ahead of Uwe Barth/Steffen Rutz GER. Another point back are Roman Juchli/Philipp Juchli YCA on the 3rd place. Eric Monnin SUI sailing his first Starboat Swiss Championship follows on rank 4. The favorites with Olympian crews Urs Hunkeler/Enrico De Maria YCL and Hubert Merkelbach GER/Brian Fatih USA follow on the ranks 5 and 6.

Unconstant and light Westwinds prevailed on Lake Thoune on the first day of the H-Boat Swiss Championship. Two races were completed and Sven Holzer GER and his team took the lead with the day rank 1 and 2. Gerhard Fuchs GER follows on rank 2 with a 3 points backlog. The best Swiss Fritz Trudel MSCGW and his team are on the 3rd position.

 Olympic Classes - Delta Lloyd Regatta - Medemblik NED - Day 2 After some start postponements, racing started yesterday afternoon in light and shifty winds allowing to complete the planned program.
In the joint men/women 470 rankings, the new leaders are now Afrodite Zegers/Anneloes Van Veen NED one point ahead of the day's best (2/3) Nikolaus Kampelmühler/Thomas Czajka AUT on rank 2. Pavel Sozykin/Denis Gribanov RUS descended on rank 3. In the 49ers, Jorge Lima/Jose-Luis Costa POR have taken the lead, and with two race wins, Yannick Lefebre/Tom Pelsmaekers BEL moved up on the 2nd place. The Olympia medalists Erik Heil/Thomas Plössel GER follow on the 3rd position. In the 49erFX, Enia Nincevic/Peiar Cupac CRO extended their lead slightly. John Pink/Sophie Ainsworth GBR remain on the 2nd place. Dorijan Van Rjsselberghe NED and 2 points back Kirian Badloe NED are on the ranks 1 and 2 in the RS:X men windsurfers.  Laser - Delta Lloyd Regatta - Medemblik NED - Day 2 Races 3 and 4 were sailed yesterday in light and shifty winds.
Pavlos Kontides CYP failed in one race (rank 33) and dropped on the 13th place for the moment. Elliot Hanson GBR and Matthews Wearn AUS lead now jointly at equal points, one point ahead of Luke Elliott AUS 3.
Emma Plaeschart BEL moved on top of the Lasers Radial one point in front of Tatjana Droszdowskaja BLR. The best of the day Pernelle Michon FRA advanced on the 3rd place.

 Optimist - Team Racing - Trofeo Rizzotti - Venedig ITA - Final results, no Swiss The four-boats' Optimist team of the Fort Lauderdale YC won the most important European Team-Race-Series in Venice ITA over the past weekend without a defeat, ahead of the Italian National Team beaten only by the Americans. With Mit Lisot New York, another US team finished on rank 3. No Swiss among the starters this year.

 Olympic Classes - Delta Lloyd Regatta - Medemblik NED - Day 1 Sun and favorable wind conditions around 15 kn prevailed yesterday in Medemblik at the Delta Lloyd Regatta and 2 or 3 races per class were completed.
The 470s are sailing in one fleet. Pavel Sozykin/Denis Gribanov RUS won both heats and lead overall ahead of Matteo Capurro/Matteo Puppo ITA on 2nd and Afrodite Zegers/Anneloes Van Veen NED as best women's team on 3rd. In the 49ers, Tim Fischer/Fabian Graf GER lead ahead of Jorge Lima/José-Luis Costa POR. John Pink/Sophie Ainsworth GBR are on top of the 49ersFX in front of Enia Nincevic/Igor Marenic CRO. The first all-women team are Dewi Couvert/Anette Duetz NED on the 3rd place. The Olympic Champion Dorian Van Rjsselberghe NED dominated the RS:X men windsurfer winning all three heats. The result of the Finns, Nacra17 and RS-X women were not yet available this morning.

 Laser - Delta Lloyd Regatta - Medemblik NED - Day 1 As always, the Lasers have the biggest and most competitive fleets of the Delta Lloyd Regatta in Medemblik, probably also influeced by the fact, that the Laser Radial World Championship will be held here in fall. Sun and a 4-5 bft wind prevailed and 2 races per fleet were completed.
Pavlos Kontides CYP won both heats of his group and leads ahead of Elliot Hanson GBR and Jean-Baptiste Bernaz FRA and Tonci Stipanovic CRO at equal points. 99 participants from 4 continents are sailing.
Experience sailers are also on top of the Lasers Radial. Allison Young GBR won both races of her group and is on first overall ahead of Emma Plaeschart BEL and Marit Bouwmeester NED.

 Olympic Classes - Delta Lloyd Regatta - Medemblik NED - Day 1 - the Swiss The only Swiss participant at the Delta Lloyd Regatta in Medemblik is Maud Jayet SUI seizing the opportunity to prepare for the Laser Radial Worlds in September at the same venue. Finishing 14th and 6th in her group, she is on rank 20 overall among the 68 participants.

 Finn - Jollen-Regatta - SV Mammern Together with the Fireballs and Contenders sailing their 2017 Championships (we reported), the Finns were active as well on the Lower Lake Constance off Mammern as well. The good wind conditions allowed to complet 5 races in two days. For the first time on top of a Finn regatta was Dominik Dominik Haitz, followed by Andreas Bollongino GER and Daniel Wehrle GER. 16 participants from Switzerland and Germany.

Laser Radial & Standard - Euromasters 2017 - Act 2 - Oostende BEL - Final results

 Laser Radial & Standard - Euromasters 2017 - Act 2 - Oostende BEL - Final results Three more races were sailed in both fleets yesterday, the final day of the Laser Euromasters in Oostende BEL.
Wilmar Groenendijk NED defended his lead in the Radials. The best of the day Martin Van Olffen NED moved up on the 2nd rank overall. Among the best of the day was also Peter Seidenberg USA, sailing in the 'Legends' category (above 70 years), who advanced on the 4th place overall among the 25 participants.
Thomas Müller GER is the overall winner in the Standards ahead of Rik Wolters NED. Alan Davies GBR and Wolfgang Gerz GER follow on the ranks 3 and 4.

 Optimist, Laser 4.7 & Radial, RS Feva - Championnat Juniors ACVL centralisé - CV Vidy Four races per class were completed over the past weekend at the joint Youth Sailing Championship of the Lake Geneva region.
In the Optimists, Clément Guignard SNNY was the winner ahead of Max Marmy SNNY and Tom Siret CNM. First in the small Laser Radial fleet was Adrien Cardinale CVV. In the RS Fevas, the second-largest fleet with 12 teams, Alexander Ott/Giuliano Zennaro CNV were on top.

 Grand Surprise,Toucan - Critérium de la Nautique - SN Genève The day after the 'Coupe du Petit Lac' (we informed yesterday), the Toucans and Grand Surprises sailed their Criterium organised by the SN Geneva. Four races have been completed in a 8-12 kn Northeasterly on a sunny day.
Twelve participant were present in the Grand Surprises and delivered a close battle for the podium as finally only one point separated the 5th from the 2nd. Christian Haegi SNG finished first ahead of Bernard Vananty SUI and Bernard Schopfer SNG.
On top among the seven Toucans was Pierre Ducluzaux SNG ahead of Hervé Gaussen CNM and René Grept SNG.

 Surprise, Yardstick - Seal Cup - CV Lago di Lugano Five races have been completed on Lake Lugano at the Seal-Cup of the Surprises and the two Yardstick categories.
Andrea Colombo CVLL finished first in the Surprises 2 points ahead of Sacha De Micheli CVLL. In the Racers (Corsa category), the Esse 850 of Luca Wullschleger CVLL was on top, in the Cruisers (Crociera), Guido De Sigis CVLL with his Dynamique Express 600 was first.

 Melges 24 - European Sailing Series 2017 - Riva ITA - Final results During the final race of the Melges 24 European Sailing Series on Lake Garda yesterday, Carlo Fracassoli ITA discovered his direct challengers for victory way back in the fleet, and he allowed himself an early home time abandoning the race. 7 points is the advantage in the final rankings. Winning the last heat, Bruce Ayres USA (with Mark Reynolds USA) moved up on the 2nd place overall. Robert Bakoczy HUN defended his 3rd rank. 39 teams.

 Laser Radial - Swiss Championship 2017 - YC Bielersee - Final results The Laser Radial Swiss Championship on Lake Bienne was concluded yesterday with only four races completed. Nicolas Rolaz CNM defended his first position winning the title with a 5 points' advantage on Grégoire Peverelli SNG. Gauthier Verhulst CNP moved up on the 3rd position. Rosine Baudet CNM on rank 16 among the 32 participants was the best girl. Finishing in the middle of the fleet were the veterans Edgar Röthlisberger YCB on rank 11 and Lorenz Müller YCB as 13th enjoying the event at their local club and race against the youngsters.

 5.5m - German & Dutch National Championship 2017 - Tutzing GER - Final results The joint German and Dutch 5.5 mIJ Championships on Lake Starnberg were concluded yesterday with three races sailed in a very shifty Eastwind. Mark Holowesko BAH (with Christoph Burger SUI) added a 2nd and a 1st place to their result sheet and as premature champions did not start to the last race. Jürg Menzi SUI finished on the 2nd place, Arend Jan Pasman NED was 3rd.

 M2-Catamaran - Speed Tour 2017 - GP Grandson - Victory for Mitch Booth AUS After the Bol d'Or on Saturday dominated by the M2-Cats, the first GP of the Annual Championship was held off Grandson/Lake Neuchâtel. Best conditions with a 12-16 kn Northeasterly and sun prevailed and 6 races have been completed. The double Tornado-Olympia medalist Mitch Booth AUS steered 'Immoset' for the first time on rank one overall. 'Swiss Medical Network' with Didier Pfister followed on rank 2.

 Fireball - Swiss Championship 2017 - SV Mammern - Final results The Fireball Swiss Championship on the Lower Lake Constance was terminated yesterday with three races, and again, Claude Mermod RCO/Ruedi Moser SCOW dominated with the ranks 1 and 2, allowing them to leave out the last race as premature Champions. Completing the podium at equal points were Jiri Cechura/Jan Will CZE 2nd and Kurt Venhoda/Sonja Zaugg SVM 3rd.

 J/70 - Swiss Challenge League - Act 2 - SSC Romanshorn - Final results Perfect conditions with a stable 10-12 kn breeze prevailed yesterday at the Swiss Sailing Challenge League Regatta on Lake Constance off Romanshorn and the full program could be sailed. The CN Versoix with Victor Casas dominated again and ended on top of the rankings with an 8 points' lead on the YC Kreuzlingen with Stefan Lion. The SC Männedorf with Peter Stöckli advanced on rank 3 on the final day.

 D-35-Catamaran - Grand Prix de Versoix - CN Versoix Another four races were completed yesterday on Lake Geneva off Versoix. 'Alinghi' of Ernesto Bertarelli SNG celebrated the second GP victory this year with a series of top finishes during the three days. As in the first Act, 'Zen Too' of Guy de Piciotto SNG holds rank 2 ahead of 'Ylliam' of Bertrand Demole SNG completing the podium.

 Dragon, H-Boat, Onyx - Jungfrau-Trophy II - Thunersee YC With the Northeasterly over the Swiss plaines, the thermal breeze filled in very late, and only the Onyx could complete one shortened race. Corinne Meyer TYC and her team finished again on top ahead of Jürg Ryffel YCR and Thomas Cantz SCStä. In the Dragons, Andy Herrmann GER was on top, in the H-Boats, the winner was Fritz Trudel SMCGW.
