470 - European Championship 2018 - Bourgas BUL - Day 2

The seabreeze filled in on time yesterday and both 470 fleets completed three races in an 8-10kn wind at the 470 European Championship on the Black Sea.
In the 470 men, the young teams took the command with the Junior World Champions Hyppolite Macchetti/Sidoine Dantes FRA, day ranks 2 and 4, on top. One point behind share Jordi Xammar/Nicolas Rodriguez ESP and Giacomo Ferrari/Giulio Calabro ITA the 2nd place. 44 teams racing.
In the 470 women, Gil Cohen/Noa Lasri ISR and Silvia Mas/Patricia Cantero ESP share the first place. 6 points behind follow Cornudella/Lopez ESP, Fahrni/Siegenthaler SUI and Seabright/Carpenter GBR on the ranks 3-5. 29 teams racing.

VOR65 - Ocean Race 2017/18 - Newport RI, USA - Leg 9 - Day 1

Yesterday, the start to leg 9 of the Ocean Race over 3'300nm from Newport RI across the Atlantic Ocean to Cardiff GBR was given in good sailing conditions with a 15kn westerly wind. Being the last big offshore race, the results will count double. The fleet is advancing at speeds above 20kn pushed by a well-established rear wind. 'Dongfeng' (Charles Caudrelier FRA) was leading this morning UTC with 1,7nm on 'AkzoNobel' (Simeon Tienpont NED and 'Mapfre' (Xavi Fernandez ESP) sailing closely together.

420, 29er, Laser 4.7 & Radial, Europe, Pirat - Young European Sailing - Kiel GER - Day 2

 420, 29er, Laser 4.7 & Radial, Europe, Pirat - Young European Sailing - Kiel GER - Day 2 After waiting for wind in vain on Saturday, the 500 Youth sailors enjoyed a perfect sailing day on Sunday with a 12kn breeze an sunshine, and all classes completed at least three races.
Achille Casco/Elliot Schick SUI lead in the 420s ahead of Lenkmann/Hall GER and Bahr/Kleinwächter GER tied one point behind. Theresa Steinlein/Lisa Plattner GER on 5th are the best Girls' team.
In the 29ers, Fomsgaard/Fuglbjerg DEN are first ahead of Steurer/Fiebig GER.
Mewes Wieduwild GER won all four races in his Laser 4.7 Group.
In the Laser Radial Girls, Lena Haverland GER is on top followed by Julia Büsselberg GER.

 Finn - World Masters 2018 - El Balis ESP - Start today Circling winds inhibited to sail the Finn Masters Practice Race off El Balis (north of Barcelona) yesterday. Today the Championship will be on for the 353 Masters (age 40 plus) from 32 nations, among them the defending Champion Vladimir Krutskikh RUS. Among the favorites are also Christoph Burger SUI and Piet Eckert SUI. The official preview. In the Legends (70 plus), the Spanish Finn World Champions Joaquin Blanco ESP (1977) and Jose-Luis Doreste ESP (1987, Olympic Champion 1988) are on the entry list.

Optimist, 420, Laser 4.7 & Radial - Championnat des 3 Lacs - SC Murten - Final results

 Optimist, 420, Laser 4.7 & Radial - Championnat des 3 Lacs - SC Murten - Final results Good conditions prevailed also on the second day of Round 1 of the Lake Jura Region Youth Championship on Lake Morat, and all classes sailed another 4 races.
Lars Dittel BT replaced the tied Simon Mille CVE on top of the Optimists. On rank 3 followed the best Girl Andrea Dubois BT. 30 Optimists participated. In the other Youth classes the participation was mimimal only.

 D35-Catamaran - Grand Prix de Versoix - CN Versoix - Day 2 Six races were completed yesterday after the windless Saturday at the D35 Versoix GP. Clear interim's leader is 'Alinghi' of Ernesto Bertarelli SNG with nothing but top-3 results. The challengers are not far away with 'Django Racing' of Jan Eckert ZSC on second, and 2 points back 'Okalys' of Nicolas Grange SNG and 'Ylliam' of Bertrand Demole SNG on the 3rd place.

 J/70, Yardstick - Coppa Wullschleger - CV Lago di Lugano - Final results Good conditions yesterday allowed to complete another three races per class on the final day of the Coppa Wullschleger on Lake Lugano.
Matthias Bermejo YCL and his team finished first in the J/70s with Jean-François De Cerjat CVN advancing on rank 2 with a race win. Christian Sprecher SCE followed on 3rd among the 14 teams. In the Cruisers, Gianluca Bianchetti CVLL was on rank 1, as best Racer finished Sacha De Micheli CVLL ahead of Andrea Colombo CVLL, both on Surprise yachts.

 Catamaran - Cat-Weekend - YC Ascona - Final results Inspite of variable weather near the Alps on the Lago Maggiore, the sailing conditions were good and 9 races could be completed at this year's Cat-Weekend.
In the Kategorie C1, Andreas and Andrea Lutz SCR on a Falcon-F16 were the winnersa ahead of the Nacra 16 of Félix Grobet/Loïc Janet YCG and Marine Van Campenhout/Mathieu Meyer CNV.
In the CJ-Wertung, Maxime Thommen/Anja Camusso YCZ finished first.

 Yardstick - Long-Distance-Race Zürich-Rapperswil - Zürcher SC Good conditions prevailed yesterday during the traditional Lake Zurich end-to-en long-distance race Zurich-Rapperswil. 97 of the 117 boats finished the race with Amedeo Vaccani ZSC and his team on an Esse 990 as winner ahead of Nicola Fuso SCStä on an Esse 850 and Thomas Cantz SCStä on his Onyx.

 SRS - 100 milles de Pentecote - CV Estavayer The rather negative wind forecast prompted Race Management to shorten the race prematurely before the start already. Nevertheless, the 78 teams encountered quite favorable conditions at the traditional long-distance-race on Lake Neuchâtel last Saturday. With a fast race, all teams finished the regatta before sundown. Winner in the monohulls (TCFX, TCF1, TCF 2) on the long course was Pierre Walt CVN an his Esse 850. On the shorter course (TCF 3, TCF 4), Christophe Jutzi CVE on his Surprise was first.

 Windsurfing - Bise noir Surf Classic - Murten - Day 2 The wind was too light on the second day of the Bise-Noir Windsurfing Regatta on Lake Morat as well. Today is the last day to start racing ! The event facebook page.
On the Swiss Windsurfing Website, first conclusions regarding the Foil Windsurfer are presented, with a very positive result as the number of participants has been growing after years with a decline.

 VOR65 - Ocean Race 2017/18 - Newport RI, USA - InPort Race Rain and moderate winds prevailed yesterday during the Newport InPort Race, as always the prologue to the next leg of the Ocean Race, to be started this evening. 'Brunel' of Bouwe Bekking NED took the lead right from the start and was the clear winner ahead of 'Mapfre' (Xavi Fernandez ESP) and 'Vestas' of Charlie Enright USA. With this rank 2, 'Mapfre' extended her lead in the InPort Race rankings.
This evening at 18h UTC, the start will be given to leg 9 of the Ocean Race leading over '3300nm across the Atlantic Ocean to Cardiff GBR.

 Match Race Germany - Langenargen GER - Day 3 The Round Robin of Matchrace Germany on Lake Constance Matchrace was concluded yesterday with the defending Champion Eric Monnin SUI clearly on top with a 10-1 score, qualified directly for the Semi Finals. The ranked 2-7 duel today for the remaining three Semi finalists. Dejan Presen SLO meats Szymon Jablkowski POL, Max Gurgel GER vs Vladimir Lipavsky RUS and Karol Jablonski POL vs Maxime Mesnil FRA.

Optimist, 420, Laser 4.7 & Radial - Championnat des 3 Lacs - SC Murten - Day 1

Yesterday on Lake Morat, the first Round of the 2018 Youth Championship of the Lake Jura Region was kicked-off.
First after three races in the well-attended 30-boat Optimist fleet was Simon Mille CVE. Already 11 points behind follow Lars Dittel BT and Matthew Chassot BT on the rank 2 and 3. The other fleets are rather small. Hugo Weidemann CVN leads in the Lasers Radial, Dileija Dirren SCM won all 3 heats in the Lasers 4.7 and Dimitri Niederhauser/Leo Chassot SCM are the only 420 team sailing.

J/70, Yardstick - Swiss Cup/Coppa Wullschleger Group - CV Lago di Lugano - Day 1

Two races were held on Lake Lugano yesterday on the first day of the Coppa Wullschleger. Mathias Bermejo YCL has taken the lead in the J/70 with the ranks 1 and 4. Emanuel Müller YCB folows on rank 2. Christian Sprecher SCE, Julian Flessati RCB and Stefan Seger RCO occupy the ranks 3-5 at equal points.
Leader in the Crociera rankings is Guido De Sigis CVLL with his Dynamic Express 800. In the Racers (Corsa), the two Surprise of Andrea Colombo CVLL and Stefano Baranzini CVLL share the lead at equal points.

Today will be crucial for the Quarter Finals with the ranks 3-10 separated by one point only.

 VOR65 - Ocean Race 2017/18 - Newport RI, USA -  Inport Race today Today in Newport RI, the Ocean Race will be relaunched with the InPort Race, before the 7 teams will start to leg 9 across the Atlantic Ocean to Cardiff GBR on Sunday. Most probably, the overall victory will be decided between 'Mapfre' (Xavi Fernandez ESP) and 'Dongfeng' (Charles Caudrelier FRA) 3 points behind. The 3rd-ranked 'Brunel' (Bouwe Bekking NED) is already 11 points back.

IRC, 12mJI - Semaine de Porquerolles - Final results

 IRC, 12mJI - Semaine de Porquerolles - Final results Over the Ascension weekend, the IRC classes and the three 12mIJ harboured in the region, sailed the "Semaine de Porquerolles" in moderate conditions. Only on Sunday, an upcoming thunderstorm inhibited racing.
Jean-Jacques Chaubard SUI on his TP52 finished first in the IRC0/IRC1-rankings. In the 12mIJ, Thierry Verneuil on 'France' was the winner.
