Bénéteau Figaro - Transat AG2R - Concarneau FRA- St.Barth FRA - Day 5
Saturday, April 9, 2016 (Image © Skipper Macif)
The fresh rear winds persisted also yesterday and the fleet is progressing quickly at speeds of 12-15 kn. The Canary Islands will be passed today already. The main event of the day was the dismasting of the boat of Charlie Dalin/Yoann Richomme FRA sailing in the top group. The leaders this morning were Sam Matson/Robin Elsey GBR sailing on the most western edge of the fleet. Chabagny/Tabarly FRA follow 8 miles behind, but being the most southern boat, they might reach the fresh trade winds as first.
