The elimination race on the South Indian Ocean continues. In the severest collision with flotsam so far, Kito de Pavant FRA damaged the suspension of the canting keel massively causing a leak in the hull. During the past night, the French Marine evaquated de Pavant from his Open60. Eric Bellion FRA sailing on the 18th position capsized after being hit by a 50 kn gust, loosing one of the rudders. Hew is now heading North looking for a sheltered place to repair the damage. The rest of the fleet continues the race direction East. Armel Le Cléac'h FRA had a 112 nm advantage on Alex Thompson GBR this morning.
