
Olympic Classes - Kieler Woche 2025 - Final results

Perfect sailing conditions characterized the finals of Kiel Week in the Olympic classes, with fresh to strong, challenging winds and flat waves. Denmark (ILCA 6), Italy (ILCA 7), Great Britain (49erFX), France twice (49er and iQFOiL Women), and Germany (iQFOiL Men) celebrated victories. ----------- Even victory in the Medal Race was not enough for Dimitri Peroni ITA to knock Lorenzo Brando Chiavarini ITA off the top of the ILCA-7 Men rankings. Finn Lynch IRL defended his 3rd place without any problems. Gauthier Verhulst CNP/GYC finished the week in 26th place out of 148 participants. ----- In the ILCA-6 Women, Anna Munch DEN controlled the competition and confirmed her top position with a 3rd place finish. Maria Erdi HUN jumped to 2nd place overall thanks to a 2nd place finish in the final regatta. Emma Plaesschaert BEL took bronze. Anja Von Allmen SUI/GYC finished 17th and Rosine Baudet SUI/SNG 24th. ----- In the 49er Men's Skiff, Erwan Fischer/Clément Péqin FRA remained at the top. Jakob Meggendorfer/Andreas Spranger GER, in second place, overtook Hernan Umpierre/Fernando Diz URU thanks to a 6-point better final regatta. Joshua Richner/Nilo Schärer SUI/TYC are 18th, and Theo Elbel/Itay Geller SVT are 65th. ---- - The medal race duel between the leading German 49er Women's Skiff Teams significantly changed the podium. Freya Black/Saskia Tidey GBR won the Medal Race and overtook the previous leaders Sophie Steinlein/Catherine Bartelheimer GER. Marla Bergmann/Hanna Wille GER, who had been sailing at the top throughout the week, fell to last place and lost the bronze medal to Georgia and Antonia Lewin-LaFrance CAN. The Swiss women are 29th Malena Rüegge/Liv Wicki SVKr, 36th Simon Mille/Samuel Berther CVE and 43rd Sophie Studer/Shana Burger RCO. ---- - In the iQFOiLs Men (select link on top of rankings), Fabian Wolf GER won ahead of Tomasz Romanowski POL. The only Swiss competitor, Nino Livio Lofterod DRCS, finished in 31st place. ----- After the final in the iQFOiLs Women (select link on top of rankings), Marion Couturier FRA remains in first place, but Sophia Meyer GER lost silver to Ambar Papazian FRA.
