Spindrift 2 - Yann Guichard FRA guilty after collision with spectator boat

Last week, the Civil Court in Lorient convicted Yann Guichard as guilty in the collision of his Maxi-Trimaran 'Spindrift' with a spectator boat at the start to the 6th leg of the Volvo Ocean Race last summer. A leg of a lady passenger on that boat had to be amputated as a concequence of this accident. The conditional sentence for Guichard is 6 months prison and compensation for moral and material damages.
