Mini 650 - Mini-Transat - Las Palmas ESP - Leg 2 - Day 8, the Swiss
Thursday, November 9, 2017
Covering partly over 200 miles in 24 hours, the Mini-Transat fleet is still making good progress, and one third of the leg 2 distance has already been left behind.
Ian Lipinski POL easily lives up to his role as favorite in the Protos having enhanced his advantage on the second-ranked Simon Koster SUI to over 100 miles now. The Swiss is on a northern route, as is Lipinski, while Jörg Riechers GER on 3rd gybed South yesterday hoping to reach fresher trade winds soon. His backlog on Koster is small with only 9nm.
No changes in the Series-Minis: Erwan Le Draoulec FRA slightly extended his lead on Clarisse Crémer FRA to 27nm. Tanguy Bouroullec FRA on rank 3 is already 52nm behind. Valentin Gautier SUI remained on 8th with a steady 131nm backlog. Yann Burkhalter SUI stays on rank 26.
