470 - European Championship 2021 - Vilamoura POR - Day 2 - the Swiss

Light winds between 7 and 9 kn marked the second day of the 470 European Championships in Vilamoura, and in all classes, two races each could be sailed. ----- In the 470 men, Paul Snow-Hansen/Daniel Willcox NZL were the best of the day, finishing first and seventh respectively, and took over the lead. Jordi Xammar/Nicolas Rodriguez ESP follow 2 points behind in 2nd, with Olympic Champions Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS another 2 points behind now in 3rd. In 8th, Kilian Wagen/Grégoire Siegwart SUI are still well placed. Yves Mermod/Cyrill Schüpbach SUI follow in 18th place out of the 29 teams. ----- In the 470 women, Fernanda Oliveira/Ana-Luisa Barbachan BRA won both races and moved up to the third place. Still at the top are Silvia Mas-Depares/Patricia Cantero ESP, followed 2 points behind by Camille Lecointre/Aloise Retornaz FRA in 2nd. Equal on points with the Brazilians, Linda Fahrni/Maja Siegenthaler SUI moved up to 4th. ----- Nitai Hasson/Saar Tamir ISR have taken the lead in the 470 Mixed rankings, followed 5 points behind by Amy Seabright/James Taylor GBR.
