470 - European Championship 2021 - Vilamoura POR - Day 4, the Swiss

Perfect conditions prevailed again yesterday in the south of Portugal with moderate winds and summer temperatures above 25°C. Today, the last two qualifying races for tomorrow's Medal Races will be sailed. After 9 races, exciting battles for the titles are ahead. ----- In the 470 women, Silvia Mas-Depares/Patricia Cantero ESP are only 3 points ahead of Camille Le Cointre/Aloise Retornaz FRA. 10 points behind, Linda Fahrni/Maja Siegenthaler SUI in 3rd place are still in the title race ! ----- Thanks to a day's win, Kevin Peponnet/Jérémy Mion FRA reclaimed the 470 men lead, but Paul Snow-Hansen/Daniel Willcox NZL follow just one point behind. The Olympic Champions Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS 9 points back in 3rd remain in the race for Gold. With the day's 9th and 16th, Kilian Wagen/Grégoire Siegwart SUI dropped back to 8th, but with 31 points ahead of 11th place, they should also qualify for the Medal Race in the last two races today. ----- In the Mixed rankings, Theres Dahnke/Matti Cipra GER could reduce their gap to Nitai Hasson/Saar Tamir ISR with two 4th places to 5 points.
