Little wind yesterday, the Medal Races of the 49er and 49erFX had to be cancelled after two attempts and postponed to today: The 49erFX will start at 12.15h, the 49er with Sébastien Schneiter/Arno De Planta SUI at 13.15h - we will broadcast live. The iQ windsurfers were also unable to sail all 5 races planned, but the qualification for today's Medal Races has nevertheless been completed, with the leaders qualified directly for the final of the top three - Grae Morris AUS and Emma Wilson GBR - the first medal winners have been determined, the colour will be decided in the final. Among them is Elia Colombo SUI in 10th place, who just managed to fight his way into the final with a race win in the final run and a won protest. He can even become Olympic champion today via the quarter-finals and semi-finals - the quarter-finals start at 2.15 pm, the final at 4 pm. The ILCA 6, competing for the first time, only managed to finish one race, which was won by Louise Cervera FRA ahead of Min Gu CHN and Chiara Benini ITA. Maud Jayet SUI dropped back to 16th place of the 43 participants on the last upwind. Stefan Peschiera PER took the lead in ILCA 7 with 1st and 6th place.
