Wednesday, December 18, 2024
The leaders have now covered half of the race distance, and the leading trio is still only 20 miles apart .... this has never happened before! ----- The new leader is now Sébastien Simon FRA, who continues to benefit from the southerly winds to sail on his remaining foil. Charlie Dalin FRA is 6 miles behind, Yoann Richomme FRA has dropped back to 3rd place, 20 miles back. The chasing pack (ranks 4-11) has moved closer together and has made up some ground in the fresh northerly winds. Still in 11th place is Justine Mettraux SUI, who reduced her deficit to 997 miles in stormy conditions. Boris Herrmann GER raced even better, moving to 9th place with a gap of 847 miles. The second chasing group is led by Isabelle Joschke FRA in 17th place, 100 miles behind. Alan Roura SUI is now 19th. Oliver Heer SUI is sailing in safety mode in 40 knots of wind, and he is still 31st. ----- The race tracker and the reports.
