After waiting till late in the afternoon, all four fleets completed finally one light-wind race each.
For the 470s, this was the last heat before today's Medal Race, where in the Men's fleet four teams still have a chance for the title. Ferrari/ Calabro ITA lead 2 points ahead of Winkel/Cipra GER. Charles/Charles ESP follow another 2 points back, and Machetti/Dantes FRA on rank 4 are 6 points behind the Gold Medal. Anything is possible in the double-points-no-discard Medal Race. The situation in the Women's fleet however is clear as Benedetta di Salle/Alessandra Dubbini ITA lead with a 16 points advantage on Frederike Loewe/Anna Markfort GER. Silvia Mas/Paulo Barcelo ESP on 3rd will fight for Silver today.
The 420s will sail two more Final Series races today instead of a Medal Race. Two boats will duel for the title in the Open rankings: Ido Bilik/Ofek Shalgi ISR and Telis Athanasopoulos/Dimitris Tassios GRE 4 points behind. The Bronze Medal will also be disputed as Vasilios Gourgiotis/Orestis Batsis GRE and Edoardo Ferraro/Francesco Orlando ITA are also separated by 4 points only. Maxime Bachelin/Arnaud de Planta SUI crossed the finish line as 2nd, but were disqualified, and all chances for a Medal were gone. The fight for the 420 U17-title will also be very close with Tommaso Cilli/Bruno Mantero ITA 3 points ahead of Daniel Göttlich/Linus Klasen GER. Lucas Parés/Teo Parés ESP are on a safe Bronze Medal place.
