IMOCA Open 60 - Vendée Globe 2016/17 - Day 23
Tuesday, November 29, 2016
The leading duo Le Cléac'h FRA/Thompson GBR is now sailing in a more westerly (rear) wind assisting Alex Thompson GBR to better overcome the handicap of the broken foil appendage. His backlog on Armel Le Cléac'h FRA of 24 nm remained unchanged. With 486 nm in 24 hours, Sébastien Josse FRA on 3rd was the fastest, and he reduced the backlog on the leaders by 30 nm. Jean-Pierre Dick FRA, Thomas Ruyant FRA and Jean Le Cam FRA on the ranks 7-9 will round Cape of Good Hope today. The bulk of the fleet is still trailing in the St-Helena anticyclone zone with speeds below 5 kn.
