Olympic Classes - World Championships 2018 - Aarhus DEN - Day 3 - the Swiss
Sunday, August 5, 2018
Sébastien Schneiter/Lucien Cujean SUI had an excellent first day in the 49ers yesterday with the ranks 3/8/2 on rank 5 overall only 2 points behind the tied leading quartet. Livia Naef/Nehlia Puhze SUI had their first three races in the 49ersFX as well and are 52nd after day one.
The 470 men and Finns concluded their qualfications for the Gold- and Silverfleets. The only boat qualified for Gold are Kilian Wagen/Grégoire Siegwart SUI as 22nd. With the day ranks 20 and 7, Linda Fahrni/Maja Siegenthaler SUI did somewhat offset the black Friday and are now as 12th of the 470 women still in reach of the Olympic Nations' qualification (8th nation).
The Finn sailor Nils Theuninck SUI, sick after day one, did not compete yesterday and will hopefully resume racing in the Silverfleet on Monday as does the veteran Thomas Gautschi SUI.
Eliot Merceron SUI remained on rank 35 in the Lasers Standard. With a 9th rank in his group, he sailed his best result so far. Maud Jayet SUI in the Radials could not repeat her performance of day one yesterday and down on rank 33, she will have to fight for the Goldfleet in today's races.
All ranking lists and the news of the Swiss team.
