IMOCA Open 60 - Vendée Globe - Les Sables d'Olonne - Day 80 - Arrival today !
Wednesday, January 27, 2021
Tonight, the outcome of the 2202/1 Vendée Globe will be decided. This morning UTC, the leader Charlie Dalin FRA (Apivia) was 261 miles short of the finish. With a lead of 49 miles over Boris Herrmann GER (Seaexplorer) and 58 miles over Louis Burton FRA (Bureau Vallée 2), Dalin has a good chance of crossing the finish line in first, but whether this means the overall victory depends on the time gaps to Boris Herrmann GER (SeaExplorer) and Yannick Bestaven FRA (Maître Coq), who both have time credits for their participation in the rescue of Kevin Escoffier: 6 hrs for Herrmann and 10.5 hrs for Bestaven. ----- Meanwhile, another group of 6 will cross the equator today. ----- The race tracker and the news.
