The Junior World Championships on Lake Garda came to an end yesterday in moderate winds. The Italians knew how to shine and won 6 of the 11 titles to be awarded: Federico Pilloni ITA and Carola Colasanto ITA dominated the iQ Foil from the start. And both titles in the ILCA 6 also went to Italy: Antonio Pascali ITA in the men's and Maria Arseni ITA in the women's took gold. In the Nacra 15, Lorenzo Sirena/Alice Dessy ITA moved up to first place on the final day and the home team also dominated the 420 Open with Lisa Vucetti/Vittorio Bonifacio ITA. In the men's Kite Foil, the duel between Lucas Fonseca BRA and Gian-Andrea Stragiotti SUI lasted until the last (18th!) race, with the Brazilian securing the title by a narrow one-point margin. Maria Turrienza ARG took a comfortable victory in the women's Kite Foil, Ewa Lewandowska/Krszysztof Krolik POL clearly dominated the 29er Open and Alicja Dampc/Alicja Tutowski POL won the women's 29er on the final day. Neben der Silbermedaille von Gian-Andrea Stragiotti SUI zeigten die Schweizer auch in den anderen Klassen gute Leistungen: Nino-Livio Löfteröd/Sandro Meszaros SUI kämpften im 420er bis am Schlusstag um eine Medaille und wurden 5. Malena Rüegge/Liv Wicki SUI begannen die WM der 29er mit zwei Laufsiegen fulminant und wurden zum Schluss 10. In den grossen Feldern der ILCA's wurde Matthew Chassot SUI 17. der 63 Teilnehmer, Shana Burger SUI wird 26. der 53 Teilnehmerinnen. Im iQ-Foil-Windsurfer wurde Robin Zeley SUI 17. der 38 Teilnehmer, Chloë Huguenin SUI wurde bei den Frauen 15. Im Nacra 15 beendeten Morgane Mazuay/Alexis Lagger SUI die WM auf Rang 8.
