IMOCA Open 60 - Vendée Globe 2024 - Les Sables d'Olonne FRA - Day 58

Tuesday, January 7, 2025
Charlie Dalin FRA and 112 miles behind him Yoann Richomme FRA are now making good progress in the northerly trade winds. There are still 2,700 miles (around 10 days) to go to the finish, the decision will probably only be made when they cross a flat transition zone to the westerly wind belt. Tonight Sébastien Simon FRA also crossed the equator, and he should bring his 3rd place to the finish despite a damaged foil. Jérémy Beyou FRA is now in 4th place, 2084 miles behind. Also in the group with Beyou is Boris Herrmann GER, who is in 7th place 31 miles behind Beyou. 45 miles behind Herrmann, Justine Mettraux SUI has moved up to 8th place. Jean Le Cam FRA has progressed to 14th place as the best non-foiler. Alan Roura SUI is still unchallenged in 17th place, Oliver Heer SUI has finally reached moderate winds after 6 days in the calms. ----- The race tracker and the reports.
