The Youth World Championships started yesterday afternoon on Lake Garda in a moderate Ora and all 10 classes could sail a full program. ----- A strong start by Malena Rüegge/Liv Wicki SUI in the Women's 29ers who took the lead with two wins in 3 races! ----- As expected, Gian-Andrea Stragiotti SUI is also among the front runners in the Formula Kite: with 2/1/2/2, he is in second place behind Lucas Fonseca BRA. ----- Federico Pilloni ITA leads the men's iQ-Foil Windsurfers, and Robin Zeley SUI is 14th of the 38 participants. ----- Carola Colasanto ITA dominated the women's windsurfing competition, winning all 4 races. Chloë Hugenin SUI is 12th of the 28 participants. ----- The ILCA 6 finished 2 races: Alexandros Kyfidis GRE and Zach Stibbe NZL share the lead in the men's race (59 participants/59 nations!). After a botched first race, Matthew Chassot SUI is behind in 50th place. ----- Hermione Ghicas GRE leads the ILCA women's race ahead of Alina Shapovalova UKR, who lives (and sails) in Switzerland. Shana Burger SUI is 14th of the 54 participants. ----- In the men's 29er/Open, Ewa Lewandowska/Krzysztof Krolik POL took the lead with two race wins. Ikke Huber/Liam Berger SUI follow in 8th place of the 28 teams. ----- Lisa Vucetti/Vittorio Bonifacio ITA won both races in the 420 (Men/Open), and Nino-Livio Löfteröd/Sandro Meszaros SUI (20/5) followed in 14th place. ----- In the women's 420 Danai Giannulli/? GRE are in front with 1st and 2nd places yesterday. ----- Lorenzo Sirena/Alice Dessy ITA lead the fleet of Nacra catamarans with two race wins in 3 races.
