Wednesday, July 16, 2025
The Notice of Race was amended four times during the Long Beach Olympic Classes Regatta 2025. To find out what applies, you need to join a Competitors' WhatsApp Group via QR Code. The disastrous website for this “Grand Slam Event” shows neither news nor updated video clips this morning. The following summary is therefore subject to change. ------- The five classes that have been sailing over the past few days have completed their competitions. In the only event with Swiss participation, the ILCA-6 Women, there was a shake-up at the top yesterday. With the discard rule in effect, Hannah Snellgrove GBR, previously the clear leader, lost the first place to Eve McMahon IRL, who finished the day as the best of the top five with rankings of 3 and 10. Agata Barwinska POL remained in 3rd place. Maud Jayet SUI/SNG, ranked 10th and 18th, had to concede 4th place to Lucía Falasca ARG. ----- In the 470 mixed class, Justin Callahan/Lara Dallman-Weiss USA confirmed their lead. No changes in the kitefoilers, where Toni Vodisek SLO won the men's competition and Jessie Kampman NED won the women's competition by a large margin. In the ILCA-7 men's competition, Michael Beckett GBR was overtaken by Elliott Hanson GBR on the last day. ----- The final rankings and the event website. --------- From tomorrow, Thursday, through Sunday, 15 races are planned for the Skiffs and Nacras, and 18 races for the iQFoil windsurfers. The entry lists are very short in all remaining classes.
