
Admiral's Cup 2025 - July 17 to August 1 - Race 1 - Channel Race

The Admiral's Cup was one of the most prestigious sailing competitions for ocean-going yachts, running biannually from 1957 to 2003, and was considered the unofficial world championship in offshore racing. Since last Sunday, the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC) has been organizing the revival of this traditional regatta to mark its 100th anniversary. ----- The first event was the Channel Race, a race lasting approximately 24 hours on a circuit around the island of Cowes. Line honors in AC Class 1 went to Niklas Zennstrom's Carkeek 52 ‘Rán’ (SWE/KSSS), and in AC Class 2 to James Murray's B&C 42 ‘Callisto’ (NZL/RNZYS). ----- An exemplary structured results page provides information on the overall IRC results, broken down into individual categories and classes, and contains details about the yachts and team members. In Admiral's Cup 1, ‘Django WR 51’, the Wallyrocket51 owned by Giovanni Lombardi Stronati ITA, is in first place. James Murray's ‘Callisto’ is also in the lead in Admiral's Cup 2. ----- The report. ---- - The inshore races (windward-leewards/round the cans) are currently underway and are scheduled to continue until July 24, before the Fastnet Race starts on July 26.
