Match Racing - Womens International Match Racing - Helsinki FIN - Final results

Light winds influenced the last races at the first event of the Women's International Match Racing Series 2016 in Helsinki yesterday. The Final had to be shortened to a Best-of-3-Series due to lack of wind. Anna Östling SWE defeated Pauline Courtois FRA 2-0. In the Petite Final for rank 3, Renée Groenveld NED won also 2-0 against Camilla Ulrikkeholm DEN.

 Match Racing - Womens International Match Racing - Helsinki FIN - Day 1 Sun and a 10-12 kn wind prevailed yesterday in Helsinki during the first Round Robin races of Act 1 of the Womens International Match Racing Series. Five matches have been completed and Camilla Ulrikkeholm DEN is the only undefeated with a 5-0 score. With 4-1 follow Renée Groenveld NED, Pauline Courtois FRA, Caroline Sylvan SWE and Anna Östling SWE. The news with results.

 Laser Radial - Women World Championship 2016 - Nuevo Vallarta MEX - Day 4 Variable winds on day 4 of the Laser Radial Women's Worlds in Mexico. After a number of start attempts and course changes, both groups succeeded to complete one race each to bring the Qualification Series to an end.
Marit Bouwmeester NED finished on rank 2 and extended her overall lead on 10 points. Paige Railey USA remains 2nd. New on rank 3 is Alison Young GBR. Some well-knows names are missing on the Goldfleet list of the 35 best, such as the 4th-ranked of the Olympics Annalise Murphy IRL, Dongshuang Zhang CHN, Pernelle Michon FRA and Amélie Riou FRA.

 Laser Radial - Women World Championship 2016 - Nuevo Vallarta MEX - Day 4, the Swiss Variable winds on day 4 of the Laser Radial Women's Worlds in Mexico. After a number of start attempts and course changes, both groups succeeded to complete one race each to bring the Qualification Series to an end.

Andrea Nordquist SUI, the only Swiss in Mexico, continues the Championship as 47th in the Silverfleet.

 World Match Racing Tour 2016 with the all-female SCA Team The all-female 'SCA' Team decided to continue its international racing activity after the Volvo Ocean Race. The plans consider a participation in the Tour de France and Matchracing. A few days before Christmas, the Team Head Sally Barkow USA has received a Tour Card for die World Match Racing Tour 2016 to be sailed on M32 catamarans. The project is financially not yet secured, and the Team has opened a Fund-Raising-Website with all details ... help, that they make it !

Laser Radial - Women's World Championship 2015 - El Massnah OMN - Final results - Gold for Anne-Marie Rindom DEN

 Laser Radial - Women's World Championship 2015 - El Massnah OMN - Final results - Gold for Anne-Marie Rindom DEN The Laser Radial Women's World Championship 2015 in El Massnah/Oman ended yesterday with a last race sailed in an 8-10 kn breeze. Anne-Marie Rindom DEN, on top of the rankings since day 1, defended this position also on the final day and won the World's title ahead of the defending Champion Marit Bouwmeester NED at equal points, but the tie broken in Rindom's advantage thanks to more race wins. Evi Van Acker BEL, co-leader with the Danish woman before the last race, dropped on rank 3 with a 4 points' deficit. The Olympic Champion 2012 Lijia Xu CHN finshed 6th in her comeback after a two year's absence due to an injury.

100 participants from 49 nations and 4 continents are on the entry list. Most cited favorites are Marit Bouwmeester NED, Evi Van Acker BEL and Alison Young GBR, but the interest is also on the 2012 Olympic Champion Lijia Xu CHN coming back for the first time in an international regatta since her victory in London/Weymouth.
Switzerland is represented by Maud Jayet SUI, Andrea Nordquist SUI and Lucie Ben-Amor SUI. Their objective cannot be Medals but to grasp one of the remaining 2016 Olympic nations' berths at stake in Oman. In light to moderate winds, Maud Jayet SUI had some good results during this season, but the barrier for the Olympics is high !

 Match Racing - Women's International Match Racing Series - Busan KOR - Final results Tight was the fight for victory in this last Act of the 2015 Women's International Match Racing Series in Busan KOR between Anne-Claire Le Berre FRA and Katie Spithill AUS with their teams. In arrear with 1-2, the French team came strongly back and defeated the Australians with 3-2. Camilla Ulrikkeholm DEN won against Renée Groenveld NED 2-0 in the Petite Finale.

 Match Racing - Women's International Match Racing Series - Busan KOR - Day 1 The 4th and last Round of the Women's International Match Racing Series began yesterday in Busan KOR on the 1988 Olympic waters. Light and unconstant winds prevailed and 5 flights were completed.
Katie Spithill AUS is on top of the Round Robin result board with a flawless 5-0 score followed by Maggie Shea USA and Anne-Claire Le Berre FRA with 4-1 each. The results and yesterday's news.
Racing is underway this morning and news and results should be posted on the event website by noon.

Match Racing - Women's International Match Racing Series - Sheboygan WI, USA - Final results

 Match Racing - Women's International Match Racing Series - Sheboygan WI, USA - Final results The finalists of the fifth Act of the Women's International Match Racing Series in Sheboygan WI, USA sailed on even keels until the last meters of the fourth match, where the local Stephanie Roble USA slipped by the leading Anne-Claire Le Berre FRA to turn the result to 3-1 instead of 2-2. In the Petite Final, Anne Östling SWE defeated Renée Groenveld NED with 2-0. With this victory, Roble moves on top of the Overall Rankings of the annual WIM-Series.
