IMOCA Open 60, Class 40, Ultime, Multi 50 - Route du Rhum - St_Malo FRA - Start in 24 Stunden

Tomorrow, the start to the classic Solo-Transatlantic Route-du-Rhum Race will be given off St-Malo FRA. For the first time, the foiling multihulls and Open 60s will be on the starting line, and - provided the winds are as favorable as forecast - new records may be expected.
In the Ultime-Trimarans, Sébastien Josse FRA with his 'Edmond de Rotschild' is considered favorite, but also François Gabart FRA ('Macif') and Armel Le Cléac'h FRA ('Banque Populaire') have chances for victory. In the Open 60, Jérémy Beyou FRA with his 'Charal' is the only with a brand-new construction. It remains to be seen, how well the foiling Open 60s will behave in the larger waves. Alex Thompson GBR has already successfully tested his 'Hugo Boss' at the Vendée Globe, and is also among the favorites. The only Swiss in the Open 60 is Alan Roura SUI with his 'La Fabrique' pimped up with foils for the first time. In the Class 40, Jacques Valente SUI with his 'Evian Destination' participates for the first time in an important offshore event.
