IMOCA Open 60 - Vendée Globe 2016/17 - Day 20
Saturday, November 26, 2016
The variable winds in the South-Indian Ocean have slowed down the leading Alex Thompson GBR ('Hugo Boss') yesterday, advancing at only 11 kn for the moment. Armel Le Cléac'h FRA ('Banque Populaire') could therefore reduce the backlog on 20 nm. Sébastien Josse FRA however on rank 3 did loose miles and is now 348 nm behind. The first chaser group over 1'000 nm back will round the Cape of Good Hope today. The bulk of the fleet is still trailing in the Anticyclone of the South Atlantic, progressing very slowly only.
