Although the professional windsurfing tour has fallen somewhat out of the spotlight due to the emergence of foilers, the PWA World Tour events still have a large fleet at the start. Wave and SlalomX events were on the programme at the World Cup in Gran Canaria. Sara-Quita Offringa ARU won both disciplines in the women's event, Pauline Katz SUI came 6th in the wave classification, Marino Gil ESP won the men's wave classification and Pierre Montafon FRA won the SlalomX event.
