Yesterday, the International Paralympic Committee decided not to reinstate sailing in the Paralympic programme. Sailing had lost its status as a Paralympic sport after the London Games due to a lack of global coverage, according to the official reasoning. The top-10 of the 2.4m sailed a classic Medal Race. Matthews Bugg AUS succeeded to replace Damien Séguin FRA on top grasping Gold. On rank 3 behind Séguin FRA finished Dee Smith USA 3.
The 10 best Hansa 303 sailed a Semi Final with the best 4 qualifying for the Final. In the Women, Ana Paula Marques BRA won the title ahead of Genevieve Wickham US and Violeta Del Reino ESP.
