The Mixed 470 also started their Olympics yesterday. Two races were completed in light winds. A exciting start for Yves Mermod/Maja Siegenthaler SUI, after an early start in the first race they won the 2nd race and are already in 8th place. At the top, Keiju Okada/Miho Yoshioka JPN clearly pulled away with 1st and 2nd place on the day. Jordi Xammar/Nora Brugman SUI follow 8 points behind in 2nd place, Simon Diesch/Anna Markfort GER are in 3rd place with places 4/8. Two more races were sailed in the ILCA 7. Title defender Matthew Wearn AUS took the lead in ILCA 7 thanks to a race win, Filip Jurisic CRO follows 4 points behind. In the ILCA 6, Marit Bouwmeester NED shone with 1st and 2nd place and took the lead. Louise Cervera FRA follows in 2nd place, 3 points behind, while Maud Jayet SUI was one of the day's best (3/4), now sharing 3rd place on equal points with Monika Mikkola FIN.
