Not quite as many series as announced took place at the weekend, due to a lack of wind or a lack of participants. As far as reports and rankings were available, we have documented the weekend. Once again, we have a lot of work ahead of us this summer - thank you for your support.
Yesterday, Sunday, there were sunshine and good wind conditions again on Lake Constance, so two races could be sailed. ----- The top Finn trio was separated by just one point: David Veit TYC won ahead of Michael Good SVM and Dominique Wälchli RCO - 48 Finns from 3 nations took part. ----- In the Fireballs, Claude Mermod/Ruedi Moser RCO/SCoW won all 5 races, followed by 3 teams with equal points. ----- Gernot Goetz GER finished first in the Contenders, followed by Erich Ott SVM as the best Swiss in 10th place of the 18 participants. ----- All rankings and the report of the Finns including a large gallery.
18 teams took part in the season opener on Lake Sempach in sunshine and 5-8 knots of wind. Bart Van Weesenbeek/Marc Kunz YCSe won with their Tempest ahead of Andres Rüesch/Martin Rohner YCSe on a Dyas. The ranking list and the report with pictures.
The participants who have already qualified for the Olympics are sailing the Semaine Olympique, with the Formula Kites and iQ Foil windsurfers being the first to compete yesterday. ----- Max Maeder SGP once again dominated the Formula Kite with 3 race wins in 5 races, followed by Toni Vodisek SLO in 2nd place, 3 points behind. ----- Lauriane Nolot FRA also had three race wins in the Kite Foil Women. Ellie Aldridge GBR follows in 2nd place, tied on points. ----- In the iQ Foil Windsurfing Men, Grae Morris AUS and Tom Reuveny ISR share the lead, with Nicolas Goyard FRA one point behind. The wintry weather yesterday brought good conditions on Lake Thun, and another 3 races were completed. ----- Edward Hirsch SNG won ahead of Maxime Vallotton CVVT and Alec Detrey CVVT tied on points. After the good conditions on Saturday with 5 sailed flights, the 14 teams of the Challenge League (2nd league) had to wait for wind yesterday morning, but 2 rounds could still be sailed. ----- CV Estavayer with Tom Studer came out on top ahead of YC CERN from Geneva with Elia Borego. Three more flights were completed yesterday. A commanding victory for RC Oberhofen with Stefan Seger ahead of YC Bielersee with Damian Suri.
