Olympic Games 2024 - Marseille FRA - Countdown is on

The 2024 Olympic Games began yesterday evening with the opening ceremony in Paris, with numerous sailors in action as flag bearers - the report. The first regattas are scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, with light winds of around 10 knots forecast. The iQ-Foil women windsurfers will be the first to start at 12.15 tomorrow, and it remains to be seen who will cope best with the light winds. At 13.15h it will be the turn of the iQ foil windsurfers, including Elia Colombo SUI. At 15.35h the 49erFX starts - it remains to be seen whether Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA can win their 3rd gold medal in a row. 10 minutes later, the 49er will start. They include Sébastien Schneiter/Arno De Planta SUI, who are among the great Swiss hopes after winning two silver medals at the last World Championships. 420, 470 - Youth European Championship 2024 - Thessaloniki GRE - Day 2

In moderate winds, all three fleets finished 3 races each yesterday. ----- In the 470, Manon Pennaneac'h/Pierre Williot FRA took the lead with two race wins. Roy Levy/Ariel Gal ISR are one point behind in second place, while Catharina Schaaff/Colin Liebig GER are the best Germans in 14th place out of 49 teams from 17 nations and 4 continents. ----- The large 420 Open fleet (116 teams) is divided into 3 groups. After 3 races, Georgia Faviou/Amalia Papanikita GRE led by one point ahead of Zeynep Çaçur/Zeynep Ela Köy TUR. Janut Angehrn/Julie Herzig SUI are the best Swiss junior team in 81st place. ----- Helena Borcherding/Genevieve Schmidt USA have lead in the U17 420 classification (67 teams) with 3 race wins. ----- All rankings and the daily-report.

Mini 650 - Les Sables-Les Acores-Les Sables - Les Sables d'Olonne FRA - Day 5

On Sunday, the fleet of Minis started the classic to the Azores, the second leg then leads back to Les Sables d'Olonne. The fleet is already in the final approach, 230 miles before Horta. Romain Van Enis BEL leads with a 36-mile advance over Marie Gendron FRA. Felix Oberle SUI follows in 5th place, 57 miles behind. ----- The race tracker and the reports.

Travemünder Woche - Travemünde GER - Day 4

The Travemünde Week began at the weekend. ----- The Dragons were the first class to complete their Grand Prix yesterday. After 8 races, Jesper Stahlheim SWE and his team won by a narrow margin of one point ahead of Jan Eckert SUI - the ranking Dragon. ----- The German Optimist Championship also started yesterday, and after 3 races, Paul Hickstein GER is in the lead.
