The German NDR TV Channel produced a 45min documentary film on wintertime in Masuria with emphasis on ice-sailing. Arguably, propelling sleds with sals has been invented on the Masurian lakes, initially for transport purposes on the over 100 frozen lakes. The former America's Cup helmsman and multiple ice-sailing World Champion Karol Jablonski POL is a native from this region.
