 470 - European Championship 2018 - Bourgas BUL - Day 3, McNay/Hughes USA 8th Changed conditions on the third day of the 470 Europeans on the Black Sea with a 15-18kn breeze during the races 4 to 6, and the experienced teams moved on top.
Mantis/Kagialis GRE took the lead in the 470 men with two race wins ahead of Sozikin/Gribanov RUS at equal points. Dahlberg/Bergström SWE on the 3rd place are 5 points back. Stuart McNay/David Hughes USA are 8th.
In the 470 women, Gil Cohen/Noa Nasri ISR defended the first place with Berta/Caruso ITA and Zegers/Van Veen NED advancing on the ranks 2 and 3.

 VOR65 - Ocean Race 2017/18 - Leg 9 - Day 2 The fleet was split in half yesterday in a thick fog with about 50m visibility. Four teams with the leader 'Dongfeng' (Charles Caudrelier FRA) gybed North and distanced the other three boats initially. But during the past night. the Southern Group is enjoying better conditions and 'Brunel' (Bouwe Bekking NED) is only 0,4nm back, to take the lead in the coming hours.

 Match Race Germany - Langenargen GER - Final results - Victory for Eric Monnin SUI Clearly defeating Karol Jablonski POL 3-0 in the Final, Eric Monnin SUI and his team successfully defended last year's title at the Matchrace Germany on Lake Constance. Monnin SUI handled the heavy Bavaria-Yacht much better as the Polish Champion. In the Petite Final for rank 3, Vladimir Lipavski RUS had the upper hand on Dejan Presen SLO with 2-0.

 Finn - World Masters 2018 - El Balis ESP - Day 1 The 353 participants from 32 nations waited in vain for wind yesterday for the first races at the Finn World Masters. For today, a 6-9kn wind has been promised, just appropriate for most of the 40 years plus Finn sailors.

 D35-Catamaran - Grand Prix de Versoix - CN Versoix - Final results After the 6 races sailed in a 10k Northeasterly on Sunday, another 4 heats were held yesterday in sun and a light local thermal 'Séchard' breeze. Ernesto Bertarelli SNG on 'Alinghi' added two more race wins and was the clear overall winner ahead of 'Swisscom' with Jules Monnier 2nd and 'Ylliam' with Bertrand Demole SNG (tactics Mathieu Richard FRA) 3rd.

470 - European Championship 2018 - Bourgas BUL - Day 2, McNay/Hughes USA 9th

The seabreeze filled in on time yesterday and both 470 fleets completed three races in an 8-10kn wind at the 470 European Championship on the Black Sea.
In the 470 men, the young teams took the command with the Junior World Champions Hyppolite Macchetti/Sidoine Dantes FRA, day ranks 2 and 4, on top. One point behind share Jordi Xammar/Nicolas Rodriguez ESP and Giacomo Ferrari/Giulio Calabro ITA the 2nd place. Stuart McNay/David Hughes USA are 9th. 44 teams racing.
In the 470 women, Gil Cohen/Noa Lasri ISR and Silvia Mas/Patricia Cantero ESP share the first place. 6 points behind follow Cornudella/Lopez ESP, Fahrni/Siegenthaler SUI and Seabright/Carpenter GBR on the ranks 3-5. 29 teams racing.

 Finn - World Masters 2018 - El Balis ESP - Start today, with USA and CAN sailors Circling winds inhibited to sail the Finn Masters Practice Race off El Balis (north of Barcelona) yesterday. Today the Championship will be on for the 353 Masters (age 40 plus) from 32 nations, among them the defending Champion Vladimir Krutskikh RUS. North America is represented by a CAN and 8 USA participants. The official preview. In the Legends (70 plus), the Spanish Finn World Champions Joaquin Blanco ESP (1977) and Jose-Luis Doreste ESP (1987, Olympic Champion 1988) are on the entry list.

 VOR65 - Ocean Race 2017/18 - Newport RI, USA - InPort Race Rain and moderate winds prevailed yesterday during the Newport InPort Race, as always the prologue to the next leg of the Ocean Race, to be started this evening. 'Brunel' of Bouwe Bekking NED took the lead right from the start and was the clear winner ahead of 'Mapfre' (Xavi Fernandez ESP) and 'Vestas' of Charlie Enright USA. With this rank 2, 'Mapfre' extended her lead in the InPort Race rankings.
This evening at 18h UTC, the start will be given to leg 9 of the Ocean Race leading over '3300nm across the Atlantic Ocean to Cardiff GBR.

J/70 - North American Championship, Valle de Bravo MEX, May 14-19, final results, Bowen USA Champion

Yesterday, the last two races of the J/70 North American Championship were held of Valle de Bravo MEX with the premature Champion Thomas Bowen USA and his team not competing in the last heat. There were obviously no changes on the podium with Bowen first 16 points ahead of Oivind Lorentzen USA. Ander Belausteguigoitia MEX on rank 3 kept his advantage on rank 4 (12 pts) and grasped the Bronze medal. Winner in the Corinthian rankings is Hector Guzman Gonzalez MEX on rank 9.

In the men (48 teams/24 nations), Carl-Fredrik Fock/Marcus Dackhammar (SWE) are favored among the many contenders. Stuart McNay/David Hugues USA will have a say for the overall Open rankings. A steady 10-14 knots' breeze and gusts to 17, with puffs and shifts kept the teams busy in off Valle de Bravo MEX at the J/70 North Americans. 10 of the scheduled 12 races have been completed and Thomas Bowen USA and his team holds a dominating 25-point lead before the last two races of today, Saturday. Bowen counts only top-4 results on his record sheet. On rank 2 follows Oivind Lorentzen USA. Ander Belausteguigoitia MEX on rank 3 has an 11 points advantage on rank 4 and his podium finish is not really in danger. Leading the Corinthian division is Hector Guzman Gonzalez MEXon rank 9.

Most probably, the overall victory will be decided between 'Mapfre' (Xavi Fernandez ESP) and 'Dongfeng' (Charles Caudrelier FRA) 3 points behind.
